An exceptional conversation with Dane Hague, CEO of MyLand Agriculture, A Soil Health Company While many talk about regenerative agriculture, Dane Hague and the MyLand team are delivering soil health solutions with quantifiable impact. Improving soil health and reducing water use. Favorite quote from Dane, "We can't solve the water crisis without soil being part of the conversation." As always, thanks to Tom Freyberg, my co-host, and founder and Managing Director of Atlantean Media Dane openly shares his origin story, moving from a successful corporate legal career into co-founding a soil health company that harnesses microalgae. He describes how we got to the stage of unfarmable land, with heavy industrial and commercial farming activity stripping out the life from soil. The co-founder discusses the dire situation of farmland being abandoned at an alarming rate, and the impact of unhealthy soil on water. In his words, Dane says that we can’t solve the water crisis without talking about soil. He also talks about engaging in dialogue with farmers and why bombarding them with data isn’t the answer. International Day of Plant Health! Today, I'd like to recognise the crucial efforts of #TeamBayer in bolstering plant health worldwide. It's not easy coming up with solutions for an industry that has existed for thousands of years, but we keep pushing the envelope that bit further! So keep up the good work, and lay the foundation for a tomorrow where agriculture thrives in harmony with nature. #PlantHealth #InternationalDayofPlantHealth #SustainableLiving

Check out this new R package named {soils} which helps display test results in an easy to digest format.
Understanding soil data is crucial for making informed management decisions. However, soil health outcomes are determined by many variables, and the science surrounding soil health measurements is ever evolving. This makes it difficult to present soil data in an easy-to-understand way. Enter {soils}, a new R package developed to effectively visualize and describe soil health data. The Washington State Department of Agriculture and Washington State University developed {soils} as a step toward the State of the Soils Assessment objective: to help farmers assess their own soil health. Since 2020, more than 300 participating farmers have received customized soil health reports, intended to help them access, understand, and translate their soil data into informed management decisions. It is #WorldSoilDay today - although soil health is one of our top priorities every day. As we work with farmers and ranchers to implement or enhance regenerative practices, we constantly hear about the importance of their soil and their drive to improve its health for long-term resilience and viability. In this video, hear from a SD farmer as he shares about the benefits he has seen on his operation since transitioning to no-till.

2moGabe, your work to promote regenerative agriculture has been nothing short of inspiring, especially as you navigate such personal challenges like battling ALS. I am grateful for your commitment to spreading awareness about soil health benefits. In honor of your message, I've been growing my own produce using regenerative practices. I recently put my garden to bed and planted my cover crop, embracing the principles you champion. May your message continue to grow and inspire many others, and may you find strength and support in this journey.
