Mentally Healthy Schools. My home page is full of messages written on office walls (what is this thing?) proclaiming the need for organisations to look after their employees. I have to confess, as a former head teacher, I find some of this a bit tricky. There is a part of me (quite a significant part TBH) which thinks that schools are primarily there to educate and nurture our children. How do we ensure our adults are well supported and can thrive and find joy and fulfilment in their day jobs, and still enable the core business to thrive? It's tough! As leaders we carry the burden of care for every member of our community, but we need to remain healthy and effective ourselves. Can we lead our schools in a way which nurtures, challenges and fulfils our whole community, including ourselves?
