Does sustainability sell? Not if it's 'ego' marketing. Here's my mini masterclass on sustainable marketing - thanks to Futerra for open sharing! I'd love to hear about products and campaigns which really sell the benefits of sustainable products/services - hit me with them. PLUS - if you like these slides, you should see the depth of insight when I present them live. :-) #greenmarketing #sustainablemarketing #marketingthatworks #sustainableliving #brandpurpose
Thank you, Solitaire Townsend, for sharing all this knowledge. I love the term "ego marketing." Don’t you think it also encompasses those advertising campaigns that are communicated solely because some CMO believes, "I’ve invested millions on this new packaging... someone has to acknowledge my effort" 😉? In most cases, however, consumers perceive it as, "This is your f**** responsibility.
Seems so simple. Hard to understand why we see so many misses — thanks for continuing to point the way, Soli, Lucy and team!
Very well said! And even more so right now.
Yes, this is dead on. Consumers don't buy sustainability. The key is linking the sustainability benefits to the category purchase driver. Great summary, Solitaire Townsend.
Thanks.. spot on and very helpful!
I've just saved this link, Solitaire Townsend. You and Futerra are thinking inside the box. And I'm sure it works. Thank you.
Love this. Why is sustainability marketing so often about the brand, and neglecting the customer? When will the industry start to focus on shifting behaviours and attitudes instead of ego marketing?
Great resource 🙏🏽
This is amazing content, thanks Solitaire Townsend and the entire Futerra team for sharing!

4wI’ve had more success selling sustainable products and services B2B, rather than B2C. But do you know why? Because B2B customers have sustainability targets to meet. Which means there’s a clear ‘what’s in it for them’. They meet their targets and get rewarded.
