Karooooo and Altron have traditionally competed to become the best in their business on the continent as the firms have similar offerings via Cartrack and Netstar. For a closer look at this, I joined Noluthando Mthonti - Mlambo on BusinessDay TV Altron is focusing efforts to growth its vehicle tracking unit Netstar, through an expansion of relationships with vehicle manufacturers and growing its book of enterprise customers that carry large fleets. This is according to group CEO Werner Kapp who told Business Day that the unit has grown its business through three channels: consumers, enterprises and vehicle manufacturers or OEMs (original equipment manufacturers). Altron has been under pressure to grow units like the Netstar business after the unbundling of Bytes Technology. The unit, a once-dominant player in its sector, had lost ground to competitors such as MiX Telematics, which recently merged with Powerfleet, and Karooooo-owned Cartrack. August was a bit of a wild one! ✅ Got married on the 22nd to my beautiful wife 😍 ✅ Found out we’re having another baby girl, due December 28th ✅ Presented Vanaways to the most senior leaders at one of the biggest manufacturers in the world with Chris Jakeways at their UK HQ ✅ Met with & presented to a whole team of buyers and sales people and have since started supplying vans to another top FN20 Lease company ✅ Met with UBT at their UK HQ - What an eye opener! Thanks Robert Clements ✅ Met with one of the largest LCV fleet operators in the UK with c. 9,000 after a cold call a few months ago ✅ Sold and delivered a fleet of vans to one of the biggest airlines in the world thanks to an email introduction from Nathan Merrett-Jones ✅ Finally sold some vans to Richard Horton at Medequip 🥳😁 Cheers mate!! ✅ Launched a new partnership with Anthony Heard and Artura that will change the game for our customers accident repair management, adding tremendous value to everyone. ✅ Achieved 191% of Target in a month that is typically quiet and with leave for 10 days #YourPipelineIsYourLifeline!! Let’s see where we end up next month, can’t imagine there’ll be anywhere near the amount of excitement, ups and downs, anxiety, stresses and financial strains 🤣 However, this does mean I have a new focus in life, after hoping Jane would be going back to work next year, looks like another few years of one income 🫣 So expect a whole load more of boring linkedin posts from me trying to sell a few vans 😇 #HelloSeptember #NewRegNewMe

Bismillah 🙏 Over the past two weeks, our team has been working tirelessly on building a new compatibility model. So, what does it actually do? Why did we create it? In the RV accessory industry, companies that sell jack pads for RV leveling feet face a common issue—helping customers find the right size for their specific RV trailer. The current systems out there rely on inquiry searches that require 5-6 different inputs from the customer to determine the correct jack pad size. But we've built something different. Our model is designed to match what the customer needs with only partial information. It’s smart and learns from its past interactions. Instead of asking for 5-6 inputs, our model only needs three: the RV type, the make, and the year. That’s it—no need for the customer to know the trim or leveling system. Why is this a big deal? It means less hassle for the customer—saving them time and effort. This reduces a lot of friction in the buying process, making it easier for people to find the right product without feeling overwhelmed by details they might not have at hand.
