Solomon & Co., Advocates & Solicitors’ Post

Our Partner Mr. Kinjal Champaneria and Associate Shakshi Bafna have authored an article on the Key changes under the Foreign Direct Investment policy (the "FDI Policy") in the space sector. The conditions regulating the 2020 FDI policy for the Indian space industry have been updated by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade vide press note dated March 4, 2024, to increase the role and inclusion of non-governmental entities and private sector players in boosting India’s market share in the Global Space economy which currently accounts to only 2 percent, despite being among the only few spacefaring nations in the world. For further details, please refer to the attached article, where we delve into the reforms brought about in areas of the space sector that have been liberalized by the Indian government through the introduction of sectoral ceilings and entry pathways to facilitate simple access to technology and foreign investment, increase manufacturing, encourage business initiatives, and improve relations between nations.
