We’re back from an incredible few days in Nashville! The 16th Annual Merchant Medicine Symposium offered so many valuable moments to connect, share insights, and learn from one another. Here are our top takeaways: 💡 If you’re not already using AI, you need to be. We see AI everywhere — in our personal and professional lives — and it has countless powerful applications, but many organizations don’t know where to start or face compliance barriers. Talk with IT to implement safe AI practices and explore tools like ChatGPT to start applying AI in everyday tasks. (We encourage you to play with these solutions in your personal lives so you can start to see their full potential). 💡 AI will radically change consumer expectations for healthcare. Humans weren’t meant to stare at screens all day. As AI evolves, we expect user experiences to shift toward more conversational interfaces using voice-powered agents. With rapid advancements, those who embrace AI-driven user experiences will stay ahead of the curve. 💡 We have a unique opportunity to drive innovation. Urgent care is the entrepreneurial arm of healthcare and plays a unique role in meeting consumer demands for access and convenience. We should keep moving the industry forward and do a better job of making sure patients understand our scope. 💡 No margin, no mission. We must improve profitability to increase access for millions of patients. To support growth, the industry must collaborate and use data to demonstrate our value to payers. It’s also critical to track metrics that matter when it comes to repeat visits and the bottom line: clinic visits per day, net promoter score, and door-to-door times. We’ll be sharing more insights and actionable tips on these topics over the coming weeks, so make sure you’re subscribed to our emails. A big thank you to our co-hosts, UCP Merchant Medicine, and all of the brilliant speakers for making this event so impactful! Toyin Ajayi, Aaron Martin, Derek Newell, Ayokunle Omojola, David L. Katz, Will Howorth, Kirsten Saint Clair, Heather Mirjahangir Fernandez, Brandon J. Robertson, Web Golinkin, Rebecca Messing Haigler, LynAnn Weaver
