We called in the robots to help us with a team building event, and what happened surprised us. 😯 Okay, okay… not robots, exactly. We used Snapsight AI to help us connect with audiences and tie together an experience of collaboration, technology, and innovation! So here’s how it went down: Snapsight considered the audience’s preferred genre, tempo, mood, and general “vibes” to create personalized music “instructions”. Once Snapsight organized all the data, SongDivision musicians brought it to life. The result? An AI-supported musical event the audience LOVED. Have you ever experienced anything like this, and more importantly, would you want to? #music #events #eventplanner #teambuilding #employeewellness #corporateevents #teambuildingprogram #corporateevents #corporateculture #teambuildingevent #teambuildingactivity #teambuildingideas Christo Alexander Ze Seah

🔥 Porsche x Runway Humans looked "plastic fantastic" but I believe the result is pretty cool. Another weekend in the journey of learning how GenAI works: I did some more digging into more video GenAI testing, and the possibilities this technology brings to the creative world are INCREDIBLE. This time I experimented with a Porsche car, testing: 1️⃣ How much control can I have over an object's movement (Porsche car) 2️⃣ How much control can I have over specific elements like the beam lights and their interaction with the environment. 3️⃣ Lighting styles. It's amazing to see how different lighting and styles can come together so seamlessly. I absolutely love it! On another note, I'm a bit clueless about AI sound generation. I'm looking for tools that can create music, audio, or sound effects like a car engine. If anyone has any recommendations or insights, I would really appreciate your help! #GenAI #Innovation #CreativeTech #VideoEditing #AISound

In this music video, we witness robots performing a song with impressive precision and coordination. While this display may seem like a groundbreaking achievement, it's crucial to recognize that these robots were meticulously programmed to execute specific movements. 🤖 Though entertaining, this performance lacks the autonomy and creativity that define true musical expression. 🎵 Real progress in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics would involve robots capable of independently performing music, rather than merely following pre-programmed instructions. 🎸 For now, let's appreciate the entertaining display of robots playing various instruments and look forward to the advancements that will push the boundaries of what's possible in the intersection of music and technology. 🎶 #RoboticsInMusic #MusicAndTechnology

Levent Coskun, Nigel Stanford's "Automatica: Robots vs. Music" features KUKA industrial robots playing musical instruments, combining advanced robotics, precise programming, and sophisticated sensors. The robots use motion control software for precise movements and MIDI technology for synchronization with the music. Sensor systems, including feedback loops and proximity sensors, ensure accuracy and timing. Articulated robotic arms with custom end effectors manipulate the instruments. The performance requires precise timing, coordination, and safety protocols, highlighting the reliability and durability of the robots. The video creatively integrates technology with artistic vision, demonstrating how robotics can produce a unique musical performance. #Robotics #Automation #MusicTechnology #IndustrialRobots #KUKA #MotionControl #MIDI #SensorSystems #Innovation #CreativeTech

This seamless blend of cutting-edge technology and traditional folk art left the audience in awe. We've always seen robots as precise, highly technical machines, but this performance broke all stereotypes. With synchronized movements, flowing red silk ribbons, and agile footwork, these humanoid robots showcased not just engineering excellence but also a surprising sense of cultural expression. Even their pre-programmed facial expressions added a festive charm, making them feel more engaging than ever! More than just a tech demonstration, this was a powerful statement on how tradition and innovation can coexist. The *yangge* dance, a cultural heritage passed down for generations, met the latest advancements in robotics, creating a performance that felt like a dialogue between the past and the future. It proved that technology isn’t just about precision and automation—it can also capture warmth, celebration, and the essence of human expression. This sets a new benchmark for AI-driven performances. What’s next for humanoid robots in entertainment? Can they evolve into true cultural performers? I’ve loved numbers and dance for as long as I can remember. But as an adult, I was told that you weren’t supposed to be a scientist *and* an artist. You had to choose. Through a circuitous and experimental journey, from The Metropolitan Opera Guild to Stanford University and Google, this “choosing” assumption was challenged. I began to recognize the way my creativity and artistry distinguished my work in the technology community and, similarly, how my engineering and technical skills enabled entirely new domains of innovation. I learned about a long tradition of iconoclastic entrepreneurs, academics, and artists, who built unique and glorious things with their unusual collections of skills. I stopped trying to do things the way other people did them, and found my distinctive voice. My personal mission is to make nascent technologies, like AI and robotics, more humanistic, whimsical, and widely accessible. We choose the future world we want to live in, because we have the power to engineer and choreograph it. Here is my mainstage #TED2024 talk from this April. Thank you to a long and extraordinary list of collaborators over the years, without whom this work would not have been made. Thank you to the amazing folks at TED Conferences, especially Simone Ross and Cyndi Stivers, who invited me to give this talk and coached me through dozens of rehearsals and drafts. A big hug to my family and friends for supporting me throughout this TED journey and always. AI and robots are two of the most radical technologies to emerge in the last several decades. In order to build technologies that humans want to be around, we need fields like dance because they study and understand emotion, expression, and context. This principle applies not only to robots, but a whole host of technologies that interface with people. Let’s meet on *that* dance floor. Thank you for coming to my TED talk 🤖 👯♀️ .
