"The story of women's struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organization but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights." - Gloria Steinem When the treatment of women is not equitable, we must take action. To truly include women means to openly embrace their diversity of race, age, ability, body image, and how they identify. Organizations and groups can #InspireInclusion through action in areas such as: ♀ forging women's economic empowerment - opening doors for women and girls to access leadership, decision-making, business, and STEM ♀ making it possible for women and girls to make informed decisions about their health and keeping these decisions between them and their healthcare provider(s) ♀ providing women and girls with access to quality education and training ♀ supporting women with guaranteed paid parental leave, caregiving support, and access to safe reproductive healthcare ♀ creating policies that protect, uplift, and empower women and girls

Empowerment of women The empowerment of women is the result of efforts by men and women to improve the economic and social situation of men and women and to create the conditions for a sustainable and equitable future. These efforts include: creating opportunities for men and women to work together and develop their potential; promoting equal access to education, health care, and other services; and promoting the rights of women to be free from discrimination and violence. In order to achieve these goals, it is important to promote the empowerment of women and to create a culture that supports women's rights and equality.

The Matriarchy Is Here. The Matriarchy is how we all got here. The best and most complete honour of women will be the day we no longer need a token day honouring women. Here are 10 things (of many) women really want: 👉🏽Implement Equal Pay Policies: Ensuring women receive the same pay as men for equivalent work roles and responsibilities. 👉🏽Promote Gender-Inclusive Education: Encouraging equal access to education for girls, as education is a key factor in empowering women. 👉🏽Support Women’s Leadership: Promoting women’s representation in leadership roles across all sectors, including politics, business, media and academia. 👉🏽Provide Access to Reproductive Health Services: Ensuring women have access to affordable and comprehensive reproductive health services, including contraception and maternal care. 👉🏽Address Gender-Based Violence: Implementing laws and programs to prevent and address gender-based violence, and providing support and resources for survivors. 👉🏽Offer Flexible Work Policies: Promoting flexible work arrangements to accommodate caregiving responsibilities and facilitate work-life balance for women. 👉🏽Encourage Gender-Neutral Parenting: Promoting shared caregiving responsibilities between partners and challenging traditional gender roles in parenting. 👉🏽Fostering Entrepreneurship Among Women: Providing support, resources, and mentorship programs to encourage women’s entrepreneurship and economic empowerment. 👉🏽Challenging Gender Stereotypes: Promoting media literacy and challenging harmful gender stereotypes in advertising, media, and popular culture. 👉🏽Ensuring Legal Protections: Enforcing laws that protect women’s rights and address discrimination and inequality in all aspects of life, including employment, property ownership, and access to justice. #MiddleAgedMafia #InternationalWomensDay #Equality #Equity #EqualPay #GenderPayGap #WomensRightsAreHumanRights

Happy International Women's Day 2024! Today, we recognise the achievements of women in our world. This year, the theme for #IWD is #InspireInclusion, encouraging genuine inclusion of women in all facets of life. For the #autismcommunity, this theme is incredibly important. So, how can you inspire inclusion for women in our community this #InternationalWomensDay? 💡 Build awareness: Learn more about the experiences of #autistic women and women in the community. Use credible sources and listen actively to women’s lived experiences. 🍎 At school: Ensure autistic students and siblings of autistic people are receiving support across all areas. This includes academic support, social support and wellbeing assistance. 💼 In the workplace: Support autistic women by adjusting expectations and making accommodations. Support mothers and female carers through flexible working options. 🧑⚕️ Health: Encourage women to take all aspects of their health seriously. Sending accessible information, helping organise appointments and attending them in solidarity can help. 👁️ Visibility: Recognise and uplift the stories, talents and achievements of women in the community. This is particularly important for women in male-dominated fields or industries! 📣 Advocacy: Share information and resources that empower women to self-advocate. Where this isn’t possible, and with their permission, help them to advocate for what they need. I don’t know about anyone else, but it feels like a tough time to be a girl. We’re exiting the workforce in record numbers. Taking on more work – including that of home and childcare – for less or no pay. Our body autonomy is being challenged. We’re suffering or dying, often at the hands of our partners. This is bleak stuff, but I have hope. The number of women sharing their stories. Speaking up for one another. Pushing back on status quo. We all have a part to play. Actions we can take to celebrate girls and build up the next generation of women. One that can continue to move us to a safer and more equitable world. We can all build hope for the future. It's International Women's Day. Before you or your company post about it on social today, ask yourself some hard questions to make sure your words match your actions: Do you pay women equitably and in a way that values them the same as men? Do you create a work environment where women feel safe and protected from intimidation, harassment, and retaliation? Do you provide women access to critical healthcare in all its forms (including reproductive care)? Do you give women leadership opportunities that don't use male-centric leadership traits as the standard? Do you stand against policies and political rhetoric that seeks to disenfranchise women and limit their rights in the workplace? Do you support women when they have childcare demands and cost burdens? Are you willing to lose clients or customers because you stand up and speak up for equity and inclusion for all women? Today, remember your actions will speak louder than your social post. #iwd2024
