If any of my LinkedIn friends ( remember strangers are just friends you haven’t met yet) have any associations with grassroots football clubs and want to raise some money for their club please get in touch. We have affiliate links for The National Grassroots Show at the NEC in July. These links are for ticket sales. Anyone that purchases tickets through the club link will earn £5 ‘per ticket’ sold for the club. The money raised will be given in credits to be spent on exhibitors at the National Grassroots Show. This will include, kit, equipment, coaching, health and wellbeing to name but a few. This is to ensure that the money is invested back into the club. The show will include tournaments, skills workshops, guest speakers in the form of Managers, Coaches, Players, Physios, Psychologists, Agents, Scouts, Presenters, Pundits (and the list goes on) from the world of football both Womens and Mens of all ages and abilities. The best bit???? Next years show will include more sports. Rugby, Hockey, Pickleball, Netball, Cricket…… The Grassroots Show wants to bring sports from all abilities and levels under one roof. Message for more details if you want to be involved ⚽️🏉🏑🏓🎾👟😃😃😃😃😃😃

In 2009, our founder Derek Brown started Boxing Out Negativity from the trunk of his car, with one simple mission: give Chicago’s youth a positive outlet through boxing. As the program gained momentum, it moved to his garage, and then a small, underutilized building—growing stronger with each step. Now, we need your help to take things to the next level. We’ve outgrown our current space (featured in a recent documentary shared in this post) which barely fits our growing team and community. With winter temperatures dipping below freezing, we can’t practice outside anymore. We need a secure, indoor space with a boxing ring and room for kids to study, hang out, and stay safe. Recently, our gym was also robbed—but we're not backing down. We’re still standing strong, and with your help, we’ll keep fighting for our kids’ futures. Now, we need YOU. Your support will help us move into a real boxing gym that will be a safe home for our kids all year long. Can we count on you to help us make this next big move? Every donation gets us closer to a safer, warmer, and more positive future. This Giving Tuesday, let’s team up to fight for a brighter tomorrow. Together, we can make it happen. Visit boxingoutnegativity.org/ to donate and learn more. #GivingTuesday #BoxingOutNegativity #FightForChange #YouthEmpowerment #SupportChicago #GivingTuesday #KnockOutNegativity #ChangeLives #StrongerTogether #ChicagoYouth #WestSide #NorthLawndale #GarfieldPark #Austin #LittleVillage

What is Boxing day to you? For me, Boxing Day isn’t just about sales or leftovers from Christmas—it’s a day rooted in the spirit of giving back. Traditionally, it was a time when employers gave gifts or “boxes” to their staff or the less fortunate. Today, it’s a reminder that the holiday season is about more than just receiving—it’s about sharing, helping, and uplifting others. This year, I’ve been thinking about how much volunteering embodies the true spirit of Boxing Day. Giving your time, skills, or even a simple smile to someone in need can have a ripple effect you may never fully see. Why Volunteering Means So Much Volunteering is powerful because it changes lives—not just for the person receiving help but for the one giving it too. Whether it’s: • Helping out at a shelter, • Donating to a cause you believe in, • Or simply being there for someone who needs support. These small acts of kindness remind us that we’re all connected. But here’s the secret: volunteering gives back to you too. It fills your heart with purpose, opens your eyes to other perspectives, and gives you a sense of gratitude for what you already have. Simple Ways to Give Back Today Not sure how to start? Here are a few simple ways to make a difference this Boxing Day: • Donate to Local Charities: Many organizations are overwhelmed during the holidays and could use extra support. • Volunteer Your Time: Whether it’s an hour at a food bank or helping at a community center, every little bit counts. • Acts of Kindness: Call someone who’s lonely, share a meal with someone in need, or offer help to a neighbor. So today, take a moment to reflect and act. No matter how small, your effort could be the gift someone desperately needs. How are you giving back this Boxing Day? Let’s inspire each other to keep the spirit of kindness alive. YOUR FAVOURITE IMMIGRANT NEXTALAKIJA #BoxingDay #Volunteering #KindnessMatters #GivingBack #HolidaySpirit

How can we help?
Which one of these challenges do you think you face most? Is there a challenge you would add? Tell me in the comments. These were a few of the questions I had the privilege of wrestling through alongside faith-inspired fundraisers in February at the Faith & Fundraising Conference hosted by ACF - Association for Christian Fundraising.

2024 Christmas Hamper Appeal at Newton Abbot Rugby Club. 🎁 As you are all most likely aware, living costs have not improved for anyone over the last few years. For those already on the cusp of survival, the latest inflation hikes mean simply putting food on the table to survive is not getting any easier. Some have to make the decision between Food or Heating the house. Parents are not eating, so their children can, and families eat once or twice a day instead of three times because they simply can not afford to put the food on the table. We will not fix the problem overnight or combat child poverty with a Christmas Hamper, but we can make Christmas a little easier for those families who do not deserve the hardship they find themselves in. ❤️ We will look to supply 150 Hampers, that's around 600 people, over the Christmas period. CAN YOU HELP? 🙏 There are many families and individuals that find themselves in a much better position than those that qualify for a hamper this year. Each of the hampers the Rugby Club supply will cost around £30, but not without the help of our own Commercial Partners providing products either much cheaper than retail price or free of charge, which we are incredibly grateful for. Here's how you can help: 🎅 1. Share this post far and wide. 2. Donate whatever you can afford - https://buff.ly/3OIONTl 3. Buy a box or two. By donating £30, you will supply a Hamper for another family. We will look to raise £4000 pounds, and any extra will go back into the pot for next year's community projects. Donate Here - https://buff.ly/3OIONTl Would you benefit from a Christmas Hamper? Like our previous Christmas Hamper Appeals, We offer a "No Questions Asked" basis to put your name down for a Christmas Hamper. All we require you to do is email onecommunity@narfc.co.uk to qualify.
