We’re proud to announce the commissioning of two mini-grid sites in Plateau State, located in Mararaba Demshin and Kalong. These sites were developed by Sienergy, a joint venture between Nigerian company SOSAI Renewable Energies Company and Dutch company Independent Energy—a testament to the power of international collaboration in driving innovation and impact. This initiative reflects the opportunities we aim to foster within the solar marketplace—unlocking access to clean energy, creating partnerships, and driving economic growth in underserved communities. The Netherlands is proud to partner with Nigeria in advancing its renewable energy goals. Currently, these mini-grids are already delivering reliable, clean energy to local communities, bringing us closer to achieving SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy for All—a shared priority for both our nations. We also recognize the invaluable contributions of Rural Electrification Agency of Nigeria and World Bank in promoting affordable and sustainable energy solutions across Nigeria. Through partnerships like this, we’re not just building infrastructure; we’re creating pathways to a more sustainable, inclusive future. Together, we’re proving that collaboration can tackle global challenges and deliver lasting benefits for communities.
