Naturally in the Cyber World today there is so much focus on Sotfware, Firmware and applications as the primary attack surface. And even when there is focus on devices and Network Infrastructure it is primarily based on behaviour by analyzing network Traffic. Whilst business also look at verifying users for access to sensitive networks, the Hardware (Layer 1) is all to often given a free pass into their networks. And whilst analysis of network traffic is of course very useful it requires extensive hardware, talented resources and a good dollop of hope that the unencrypted traffic is good enough to “Trust me bruv”! Lets not get into the very cleverly disguised devices sitting quietly, covertly and very productively on your networks. But this is only one side of the ever spinning Cyber coin! Thinking you know what devices/physical assets you have is such an enormous challenge for organisations. The gaps are vast! But there IS light at the end of this weary tunnel.
