GenAI is a game-changing technology, but let's get back to basics to accelerate adoption! Whatever the question at the moment, the solution seems to be GenAI. Undoubtedly, it is an incredibly capable but emerging technology, so let's get back to some basics to make it work. 1. What is the business problem you are trying to solve? All too often, I see people jumping straight to an answer without any great thought—literally tyre-kicking the technology with no real end in mind. As Einstein said, if I had an hour to solve a problem, I'd spend 55 minutes thinking and 5 minutes doing it. 2. Understand what the technology is capable of delivering. GenAI is super powerful but most useful with a specific purpose in mind e.g. in ServiceNow #CSM there are many discrete use cases that can provide instant value from chat summarization to case summarization, keeping the "human in the loop" but driving new levels of efficiency at the same time - https://lnkd.in/dQ9vu6Rr 3. Do you have the data to support the use case, i.e. clean data with the volume needed for models to work? Data hygiene and cleanliness are not a particularly fun topic, but they are foundational to driving a good outcome; good data is the fuel for AI (also for reporting, analytics, ML, etc.). 4. Can you identify quick wins to prove that the technology can enable your people and processes to deliver the desired value? It's easy to "boil the ocean"; instead, start small and learn as you go. 5.
