3 reasons why the position "Senior Designer" has been diluted over the years. → Designers want to move up to the career ladder quickly to get the bigger salary that comes with promotion. Resulting in taking on senior roles when they are not ready for it or have not truly developed as a designer. → The amount of Senior Designers leaving the industry (due to a lack of career progression) has fast-tracked a lot of mid-weight designers to the senior level when, again, they aren’t ready for it. → Start up brands will offer "senior" titles to less experienced candidates as a way of attracting them to the company. IMO Senior designer = time in the industry x evidence of delivering projects to a high level.
