Solitary confinement of prisoners is still widely used in many countries in Europe and around the world, although many studies suggest that it is often extremely damaging for prisoners’ physical and mental health and not conducive to their resocialisation. So how to mitigate this damage, and what alternative measures can be used to achieve the same aims? These were the main topics discussed #prisons #solitaryconfinement #humanrights #CPDL

The hardest prison to break are the ones we build ourselves.... When I talk about youth empowerment _ positive development, the basis is on my experiences... Over the years I learnt how we often construct our own mental prisons (limiting beliefs, self-doubt, and fear. These hold us back from reaching any of our full potential. My realization... we usually are holding the keys to break free Self-awareness - the sooner you realize that the walls of your prison are based on past failures, societal expectations, or self-imposed limitations? You can dismantle those walls brick by brick. It's not easy, I know 🙂 you will need #courage, #resilience, and a #growth mindset. This is why I take time to listen to young people or anyone really because I know that most times we need allies, friends, mentors, or professionals who can help us break free. #SelfEmpowerment #BreakFree #MindsetShift
