Indonesia is developing a new capital city, Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN), as part of its 2045 economic strategy to promote inclusive growth. Accordingly, the Government is focusing on establishing economic hubs and relocating government offices over the next 10 years, followed by urban growth and positioning IKN as a leading Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) destination. To attract the necessary funding, the Government is and will be partnering with domestic and foreign investors, facilitated through Government Regulation No. 12 of 2023 (GR 12/2023). This regulation simplifies the process for obtaining business licenses and offers various incentives for investors in IKN, including foreign investors, such as exemptions from foreign ownership restrictions, tax benefits, and other advantages. These measures aim to create a supportive environment for foreign investors, though all business actors must first secure relevant licenses from the IKN Authority. Read more about the key investment incentives for foreign investors in IKN through the link below and stay connected for the upcoming ALTA Insight. https://lnkd.in/er8-_hEM #ALTAAdvocates #ALTAinsight

Indonesia uses foreign workers to help develop its new capital city, Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN). The latest regulation highlights the validity of Foreign Manpower Utilization Plans (RPTKA) and exempts foreign workers from certain financial obligations until 2035. However, implementing these measures requires navigating complex licensing and fostering collaboration between foreign and local workers to ensure project success and social harmony. Thus, ADCO Law, led by Partner Morales Sharoz Sundusing, Associate Billiam Setiawan, and Legal Writer Mutia Ufara Rahmadani, offers regulatory insights into the regulations of the head of the authority of Nusantara Capital City (IKN), particularly those focusing on the administration of licensing services in IKN. Their guidance ensures compliance and fair treatment, fostering workforce integration and supporting IKN development goals. For more detailed information and guidance, read the latest #ADCOInsight. 26 April is World IP Day! The Directorate General of Intellectual Property of Indonesia (DJKI) has declared 2024 as the thematic year of Geographical Indications. All Regional Offices of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights are once again invited to participate in achieving a set of performance targets designed for the year 2024. This includes accelerating the growth of Geographical Indication (GI) One Village One Brand (OVOB) applications in their respective regions through collaboration with local governments, the Community for the Protection of Geographical Indications (MPIG), and relevant stakeholders. As of April 2024, Indonesia has a total of 142 registered geographical indications. Each GI represents a distinct characteristic associated with its origin, such as Batik from Java or Kopi Luwak from Sumatra. The wealth of GIs in Indonesia fosters economic growth by promoting local industries and protecting traditional knowledge and craftsmanship. #skclaw #weknowIP #worldIPday #geographicalindication
