"Our Oceans", the new Netflix documentary series available today, was advised by our Prof Robert Marsh. As a Professor of Oceanography and Climate at the University of Southampton, Bob was an overall scientific consultant for all 5 episodes of the series as it follows the thermohaline circulation (the "global ocean current") flowing through the traditional 5 oceans, showing how they are really one interconnected Ocean - and connected to us. Along the way, the series shares the lives of ocean inhabitants from cuttlefish to humpback whales, including astonishing never-seen-before behaviours (no spoilers!) captured by the film-makers over several years of expeditions and challenging underwater shoots.
