For most of us, it's probably not normal to spend our own money just to do our job. For teachers, unfortunately it is. Teachers spend an average of $860 out of pocket on school supplies each year so their students won’t go without. At AdoptAClassroom.org, we help teachers get the funding they need to equip students with essential learning tools and materials, without having to dig into their own pockets. If you’re interested in learning more about what we do or how you can help, visit us at https://lnkd.in/gTWVNK9c BONUS: This week is Teacher Appreciation Week. If you’d like to show your support for teachers with a donation, donations to AdoptAClassroom.org will be DOUBLED all week*, so your dollar will make an even bigger impact. It's officially "back to school" season! 📚✏️ The Dana Carmel Group is kicking off the new school year by donating $20,000 to the Menlo Park City School District and Menlo Atherton High School to support my children’s schools and our local community. I am a long-time, active Foundation member, and I know how much our school districts rely on Foundation support to provide quality education. Funds raised provide additional teachers, specialists, programs, and tools that make our schools extraordinary places for learning. That’s why we will donate $1,500 to your local school Foundation when you buy or sell a home with The Dana Carmel Group. This benefits both home values and school districts. A report by the National Bureau of Economic Research titled, “Using Market Valuation to Assess Public School Spending,” found that for every dollar spent on public schools in a community, home values increased by about $20. This increase directly translates to higher resale values. Send us a message to learn more! 📲 Dana Carmel Group | DRE 02076519

Only two days left to vote Team Husky or Team Cougar! For the #BoeingAppleCup this Saturday, WSU and UW are competing to raise funds for their campus food pantries! In the leadup to the big game, these rivals are coming together to tackle college hunger. Every donation counts as a gift, and all funds support the WSU Campus Food Pantry and the UW Food Pantry. Vote/Donate for your team - now until the 14th! Cougs - https://lnkd.in/gBHGymBu Huskies - https://lnkd.in/g5tQefpK College hunger is a far too common experience on college campuses where the costs of tuition, housing, books, and groceries intersect, and nearly 40% of students don’t get enough to eat. University food pantries provide essential support to students in need, helping them stay focused on their studies.

💡 This Giving Tuesday, let’s close the achievement gap in education! 💡 As a parent of twins in the NYC public school system, I’ve experienced how challenging it can be to navigate the system and ensure every child has access to the resources they need. I’ve also seen how inequities in education can hold kids back simply because of where they live or the resources available to their teachers. That’s why I’m proud to serve as a facilitator with Inspiring Educators, where we work to empower school teachers and administrators with tools, training, and strategies to transform their classrooms and communities. This work helps bridge the achievement gap and gives every child a chance to thrive. This Giving Tuesday, I invite you to support this mission. Your donation can help expand programs that uplift educators and create lasting change for students everywhere. Every dollar we raise goes directly to the IE Equity Fund, providing grants and scholarships to make our training accessible to high-need, underfunded schools, districts, and organizations. Three ways you can support IE during this season of giving: 1️⃣ Donate if you are able. We have secured a match on all donations so every dollar will be DOUBLED! https://lnkd.in/eUXbdGE9 2️⃣ Spread the word. Share our posts on here to remind your network of the essential work that educators do every day and the urgent need to support them. 3️⃣ Connect us to new friends and supporters. Do you know someone who would be excited about our mission and interested in supporting it? Put us in touch or send them this link: https://lnkd.in/ejbfgQ3K Oh... wait, there's a 4th thing. 4️⃣ Thank an educator. Always, always, thank an educator 👏 💛 #GivingTuesday #EducationForAll #CloseTheGap #InspiringChange

A little off topic today but this is near and dear to me. As a parent and advocate for education, I've witnessed firsthand the incredible impact of the GT (Gifted and Talented) program on our children's lives. Unfortunately, due to state budget cuts, our daughter's GT program, SPIRAL, is facing imminent restructuring, which would significantly diminish the quality of instruction next year. But there's hope, and you can be a part of it. The PTA is rallying support to preserve the SPIRAL program through donations to the Spring Branch Educational Foundation (SBEF). Your contribution will directly aid in sustaining this vital program, ensuring that our children continue to receive the enrichment and education they deserve. Here's how you can help: 1. Click here to donate through PayPal: https://lnkd.in/gtz5uzkt (Note: PayPal fees apply, and covering these fees would be immensely helpful.) 2. Mail a check made out to Spring Branch Educational Foundation with "Save SPIRAL" in the memo line to: Spring Branch Education Foundation Attention: Save SPIRAL 955 Campbell Rd., Suite 206 Houston, TX 77024 Your generosity will make a significant difference in the lives of our students. Plus, your donation is tax-deductible, as SBEF is a 501c3 organization (EIN# 76-0392316). #EducationMatters #SupportOurStudents *31% of SPIRAL kids come from Title 1 schools.

🚨 New CST paper - School trusts as civic institutions 🚨 School trusts exist to provide education - but as charities they also have a wider civic role. Today, many schools exist as the last civic institution in their communities. This report, produced in association with Browne Jacobson explores how trusts are working with pupils, parents, public services, charities, and businesses to help pupils do better on both sides of the school gates. For the month of July, our Who I Am Foundation volunteers in #Albuquerque are hosting our 11th Annual Back-to-School Supply Drive to help children in need begin the school year with all of the tools they need for academic success. With so many uncertainties about how children will return to school and what the classroom will look like, they need your help more than ever. Families with children in K-12 spent a projected $519 per child on back-to-school needs last year. For families in low-income neighborhoods, the costs are simply not realistic. Donating new school supplies to children in disadvantaged communities will make an impact on their ability to begin the school year school-ready. Items we are collecting: -Pencils -Pens -Composition Books -Combination Locks -Scientific Calculators -5-Subject Notebooks -Tissues -Hand Sanitizer -Wet Wipes -Trapper Keepers -Colored Pencils -Markers -Protractors -Paint Sets -Glue Bottles -Notebook Paper -Highlighters -Scissors -Sharpeners -Pocket Folders To donate, simply comment below and we'll have a volunteer coordinate a donation pick up!! #TeamWhoIAm_Albuquerque
