#LPMStudents What is "value"? The government have released some reports that help articulate it. However, should we be looking at a wellbeing economy that puts planet and people first rather than an economic one? There are different ways of looking at valuation. #LPM #TogetherWeWillMakeTheDifference #LandAndPropertyManagement

Really great to see the work of the University of Exeter and National Trust cited here (Callum Reilly, Dr. Hannah Fluck, Rebecca Clark, Tom Dommet). South Downs National Park Authority is part of this research and already it’s proving hugely valuable to how we potentially think about what engages visitors, prolongs dwell time in nature, and how to create genuine connection. Heritage has a key role to play in engaging the public in landscape, nature recovery, place making, wellbeing as well as having a practical role to play in delivering natural capital outcomes. This research is a very welcome reminder of heritage value above and beyond itself.

“…demonstrating the taken-for-grantedness that underpins infrastructural assets.” great phrasing here and a tasty introduction to the bigger piece of work. I love how the evolved use of key terms is dissected here, this nuance is critical to the policy cascade to follow in terms of placemaking, social value, cultural capital etc etc
Blog: New research at the Bennett Institute aims to define and measure the role and value of ‘social and cultural Infrastructure’ and develop a framework that helps understand their value and role in public life. Dimitrios Panayotopoulos-Tsiros and Steph Coulter discuss why this is important and how it impacts place-based decision-making. Read: https://lnkd.in/eYv-CtXE
