Kindred Works has resubmitted zoning approval for 4094 Tomken Road. This project represents a net new contribution of 250 beautiful and climate-safe rental units to the Mississauga housing market. Two new 12-storey structures will complement the existing purpose built six-storey rental building on-site. This project received funding from the Region of Peel through the Peel Affordable Rental Incentives Program in 2020 for 78 below market units for multi-person household units (2 and 3 bedrooms) in the area, to address Core Housing Need. The Tomken Road project is climate safe and resilient. It is designed to be all electric and energy efficient with zero on-site carbon emissions and uses passive strategies to enable low energy use to reduce operating costs throughout the building’s life. The resubmission modified the design to reduce shadow impacts and improve traffic flow that will enhance the livability for residents and the community. We’re also building new community gardens and pathways for ease of access between buildings and enhancing recreational space. Targeting construction in late 2025. Thanks to partners KPMB Architects.
