Great piece in Breaking Defense this week covering Space Force's long anticipated Commercial Space Strategy, and a pledge to realign and reprioritize funding to support commercial opportunities. The report focuses on “eight mission areas considered for commercial support, each with specific capabilities being targeted.” Included in the eight “Cyberspace Operations” was called out as a: “foundational requirement” for space operations, and ability to provide “Mission Assurance” across all the parts of its communications chain, requiring “bold changes and technology development consistent with the DoD Zero Trust Framework.” Check out the whole article at: https://lnkd.in/dAYAH6Uj #zerotrust #spacecyber

𝙍𝙚𝙫𝙤𝙡𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙯𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙨𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 🛰️🌌 On March 7, the United States Space Force at Vandenberg SFB, CA became a hub for international and influential thought leaders in space and defense. We are excited about what this critical development means for our space community. The two-day workshop at Vandenberg aimed to reimagine the future of the Commercial Integration Cell (CIC). Balancing the roles of the government and commercial mission partners, the focus was to align visions and define a forward-thinking strategy. The goal is to redesign cooperative CONOPs and refine the mission statement to better reflect their commitment to integrating commercial operations into broader missions. After intense discussions and brainstorming, the attendants unveiled a sharpened mission statement: "Delivering optimized space effects across all dimensions by synchronizing actions between government and commercial mission partners and sharing operationally relevant information." The workshop attendees also articulated a powerful shared vision: "A partnership of mutual trust that delivers an operational advantage ensuring freedom of use and resilient space operations." Our organization is encouraged by this strengthened commitment and looks forward to seeing these powerful words translated into action, pushing us toward a more unified and resilient future in space. We remain eager to hear your thoughts and visions for the future of space operations. #space #spacedefense #commercialspace #spaceforce

#SpaceAgenda2025 🧊 Space-Enabled Capabilities for Connecting & Collaborating in the Arctic Space capabilities and flexible architectures have become vital in the Arctic region. Looking ahead, what recommendations can be implemented? In the Arctic region, space capabilities that support navigation will be vital in establishing situational awareness while connecting and informing defense, commercial, and civilian interests. Over the past few years, a proliferation of existing and proposed commercial space capabilities in the High North have offered connectivity services across multiple orbits. In this chapter, authors Karen L. Jones and Lina Cashin examine growing complexities in the region and recommend sharing capabilities and flexible architectures that offer economy, security, and user flexibility for the United States and its allies. Midland Development Corporation approved an agreement for the Texas Chapter of the Space Force Association to be headquartered located in Midland. The organization sees West Texas as a key player in the #aerospace industry. Article states: “We found that Midland has an active #spaceport with the ability to #launch horizontal flight for #supersonic and #hypersonic testing, and also a very robust economic program for supporting this developing industry," McManus said. #spaceeconomy #spaceindustry #spaceports https://lnkd.in/gBsJPXB9

An insightful report on the 2025 Space Force Budget. "This year’s budget cycle has been unusual, with significant consequences for the young U.S. Space Force. The fiscal year (FY) 2025 budget submission reflects DOD’s continued emphasis on the department’s transition to a new model for defense space operations. In coming years, the Space Force will likely take additional steps toward a more distributed and proliferated approach for defense space capabilities. This year’s request includes funding for new proliferated networks of communications satellites and increasing attention on commercial satellite communications. With more limited growth, the presidential budget request reflects trade-offs and priorities for DOD’s space activity."

The collaboration between Government and Commercial interests goes into orbit. I am impressed by the progress that the Space Force has made in developing TacRS. The success of the Victus Nox mission is a testament to the hard work and dedication of United States Space Force to drive collaboration. I believe that TacRS has the potential to revolutionize the way we think about space warfare. It will allow us to respond to threats much faster than ever before, and it will also give us the ability to gather real-time intelligence on our adversaries. I am excited to see how TacRS will develop in the future. I believe that it has the potential to become a critical component of our global security strategy. https://lnkd.in/eS3hD9BF

Clayton Swope and Audrey Schaffer: "To prevent a devastating loss of space capability from an adversary’s first strike, the next administration should double down on efforts to diversify those space systems that support U.S. national defense — by migrating away from single points of failure and toward a robust space architecture that integrates U.S. government, U.S. commercial, and allied capabilities. More resilient architectures should be paired with credible U.S. counterspace capabilities that can defend U.S. space systems and also deny adversary kill chains that are increasingly enabled by space systems."

1w😔 we do not support the space force contribution to pollution 🌎 we must transition our military away from fossil fuels and eliminate it’s pollution footprint 👣
