(It might be your standard practice.) Instead, pick up the phone & call the customer... solve it then & there. PLUS, give the customer something extra than he/she deserves. I do not know what we can get in return from this act but I am sure, it gives a sense of satisfaction that we didn't let the customer stay with a negative feeling about our brand. Same for Recruiters, Don't just stick to the Email Replies (to solve an issue) but sometimes calling the candidate right after you receive an email will have a long-term impact.
