My observation of the important things clients take away from coaching is confirmed. And one of the main factors in the success of coaching is researching what the Coache does well in work and life. Coache gains a great resource when we focus our work on exploring what he or she already do well. When I'm talking to people who are interested in coaching, I listen for two words, "I want". If the conversation is peppered with "I should" "I need to" "I know I'm supposed to" or the worst, "My manager thinks I should", I smile nicely and nod.
