[#IndustrySpotlight] 🚀 What an important moment in time for the European space industry as #Ariane6 blasted off today. Congrats to ArianeGroup, European Space Agency - ESA, and teams of experts for their #relentlessdedication! This inaugural flight consists of three phases, which showcase the rocket's special capabilities. For the final phase, the launch vehicle will push the cryogenic upper stage to its limits, demonstrating its performance under microgravity conditions - a main feature that prevents the upper stage from becoming space debris. Our #space team is very proud of this historical mission due to our metal seals protecting the combustion chamber, cryogenic valves, and igniters. Going beyond in extreme conditions such as cryogenic and high temperature/pressure is one of our technology advantages. A good example is this combustion chamber #casestudy. https://lnkd.in/e8FqRj8i Relive the amazing launch here! https://lnkd.in/exunAkuX #GoAriane #SpaceEnablers #MetalSeals #ESA #SpaceSolutions #Cryogenic #ExtremeConditions #EUSpace

Super nice to see several European Space Agency - ESA activities on display in this brilliant short video from tech journalist Cleo Abram on the problem of space debris! https://lnkd.in/e5wCE2cW There are even several shots of IZN-1, ESA's Optical Ground Station, which I help operate and develop. 📡 It's fantastic that here a fairly broad audience is succinctly exposed to the concepts of Satellite Laser Ranging and Laser Momentum Transfer. Later this year IZN-1 will receive an upgrade, extending precise laser ranging to many more types and sizes of debris. 🛰 In future, Laser Momentum Transfer could allow similar ground stations to adjust orbits and avoid collisions. 💫 Watch ESA's full video about IZN-1 here: https://lnkd.in/eYAcqXMQ DiGOS Potsdam GmbH ESA Operations, Engineering & Space Safety

🚀 Exciting Progress in Reusable Space launchers in Europe. The European Space Agency has published some news on the assembly & integration phase of the Themis T1H, 3rd demonstration in the roadmap launched in 2020, following achievement of T0 & T1G. The Themis T1H is a reusable 1st stage demonstrator designed for vertical take-off and landing. This innovative vehicle, powered by the Prometheus engine, is set to be a first in European space transportation. 🇪🇺 🚀 ♻️ Meanwhile in Sweden, at the Esrange Space center, the launch complex is under assembly & acceptance testing. 🚀 🇸🇪 This milestone was made possible by years of dedicated effort from ground, stage and engine teams and our unwavering commitment to supporting our customers. 👍 European Space Agency - ESA ArianeGroup SSC - Swedish Space Corporation Centre National d'Études Spatiales #SpaceInnovation #ESA #Reusability #Themis #Prometheus #SSC #FutureOfSpace #ArianeWorks #ArianeGroup Read more on ESA’s website & X X: https://lnkd.in/eKSRMqHt Web ESA: https://lnkd.in/eP-Dcc-F

Cleaning up debris is something that could become a unifying goal for all space nations. And I am glad to see the strengthening of cooperation in this area. It is important for the European Space Agency - ESA to interact not only with American companies, but also with Asia, and to create new links with European countries outside ESA. https://lnkd.in/enPgizf2

🚀 Join us for an exciting virtual webinar on "Standardised De-orbit Interface Definition for Satcom-class Spacecraft" 🛰️, happening on 4th June, from 15:00 to 16:00! 🌐 This initiative aims to establish a universal standard for interfaces that enable satellite-to-satellite latching in orbit. This will facilitate the safe and non-cooperative rendezvous and capture of telecom-class platforms at their end-of-life, significantly aiding in debris mitigation efforts. 🤝 ESA is dedicated to keeping the industry and all interested parties involved. During Phase 1, we will identify key stakeholders, collect and synthesize their feedback, and present it in a final workshop planned for the end of July. 💡 The webinar offers a great chance to learn more about this initiative, identify key stakeholders, and get answers to any questions you may have. 📅 Save the date: 4th June, from 15:00 to 16:00, online via Webex.
