#nobelprize #sustainability #EarthDay The primary tension about climate in government and corporate decision making - despite extensive reasoned public discourse and exhortations to pursuade the peoples of the world and government fiscal incentives and investment in the United States of nearly $200 billion and $200 trillion in monies invested globally in status quo portfolios - appears to be still half-a-century-old stigma about the environment in a recurrence of the same pattern of geopolitics. We have seen this movie before. It is not déjà vu but a rerun: 1. The same old same old makes shareholders of corporations money, environment does not. 2. If you can tell me how, comparing my old corporate strategic planning to your push for changing it to include environment and society in terms of generating at least the same if not higher shareholder value, sure we will change our behavior, our ways of doing things. Meaning, if business schools and corporations stick to Milton Friedman’s 1970 The New York Times op-ed A Friedman doctrine ‐- The Social Responsibility of Business Is to Increase Its Profits https://lnkd.in/gNCHjNm8, the status quo apple cart of economic growth and profitability should not be upset, and even better if I can show and tell you how to add a few more orchards. Now that the conversation about philosophy, critique of both politics and economic science, available technologies based on current science, and future possibilities to enable change is complete, this next phase through 11:59:59 PM December 31, 2030 local time across latitudes and longitudes is a useful, more focused, and down-to-the-brass-tacks-global conversation to have to catalyze self-sustaining change in both personal and corporate behaviors, no matter what governments do, for this is how the Industrial Revolution began nearly a quarter of a millennium ago using coal. It is the same drill all over again, but in a far more compressed time frame of the next 50 years, in 1/5th of the past 250 years it took to get to where we are as a world, because today’s technology and globalization allows time compression for more rapid diffusion of change globally, once catalyzed. As to physics laureates: let me know your thoughts on this https://lnkd.in/echiWKpD. Do not ever ask me again, no matter who you are, what I have been doing, akin to my experienced bureaucratic PhD economist section chief at Federal Reserve Board in 2009 who said he cannot speak to me about my ideas on economics and the housing crisis because he is in the middle of dealing with the housing crisis, go figure that, after being fully in the know about what I have been doing, as also The Nobel Prize does since 2021. Get bureaucracy the hell out of science. It is a bloody drain wasting valuable mental energies which can otherwise be used for better pursuits to truly benefit humanity. Vulcan Love ✌️❤️

#nobelprize #sustainability #EarthDay This is what I have been doing One World, https://lnkd.in/euDUe7Se since the day after September 11, 2001, having begun in fits and starts in 1989 as a senior in college: It took me two full years on LinkedIn and 14 years after 2010 to transition the world from Elon Musk to me https://lnkd.in/ewgHv2yY 😊 Now let us do this thing together, to get from One Earth to One World: https://lnkd.in/eVumcAKp. The markets take over from war and John Maynard Keynes to safeguard the economic possibilities of our children and grandchildren by truly understanding the economic consequences of peace, nearly a century after 1930, hopefully not a day late and a dollar short. Carbon emissions must be brought down to zero by 2050-70 when both China, the largest emitter and India, the emerging emitter, are included. It is clear that decades of efforts since the 2005 adoption of the Kyoto Protocol by the European Union and the United States, despite emissions reductions in both regions, while China’s surpassed them, are now at stall speed if not going in the opposite direction. In the United States only 2%, according to a recent The Wall Street Journal survey, think climate is important.

This Earth Day, let's reflect on our relationship with nature. As humans, we often put our own demands over the needs of the environment. However, it's crucial that we begin making changes and take little steps to save our planet. Remember that even one small step towards nature can have a significant impact in the long term. #EarthDay #SaveThePlanet #SaveTheNature

In honor of #earthday, it is best we realize the effects that we have caused on our home. According to the #StockholmResilienceCentre, we have transgressed 6 out of the 9 planetary boundaries. Planetary boundaries refer to the environmental limits within which humanity can operate safely to avoid catastrophic changes to Earth. These boundaries represent nine critical Earth system processes that regulate the stability and resilience of the planet. Beyond this, we risk large scale abrupt or irreversible environmental changes. Even with developed frameworks and policies in place to provide a "safe zone" for humanity, it is still not enough. We need to adopt sustainable practices to avoid going beyond the tipping point. 🌐 Every voice matters. #climatechange #earthday #kijaniasili #environmentalreponsibility #thinkgreenthriveglobal

This idea holds a special place in my heart, and there's a clear reason why. During the creative process of crafting this video, my thoughts centered on one question: What comes to mind when I think of 'earth'? Vivid imagery of its beauty flooded my thoughts, but something kept disturbing these images, revealing a troubling reality of today. Ocean waste, deforestation, and the plight of wildlife disrupted these thoughts. These are not just topics for idle conversation; they demand action. Let's move beyond mere discussion and address today's reality. Consider this a wake-up call! Thank you Naresh Sharma for understanding the concept and executing it so beautifully. :) #WorldEarthDay
“Save Our Only Home” This video serves as a wake-up call, reminding us of our responsibility for the state of our planet today. Let's not only discuss but actively work towards a greener future, recognizing that it's our actions that will shape Earth's destiny. #WakeupCall #EarthNeedsYou #SaveYourOnlyHome #ReimagineEarth

Happy Earth Day everyone! It is up to all of us to help the planet in some form or another, and through our annual CARAVAN poll, 81% of U.S. adults feel it is important to observe Earth Day each year. Most encouraging though is that nearly everyone (96%) assigns some level of importance on taking action to take care of the environment/our planet 'all year round'. What actions might you be taking to protect the planet this Earth Day, and throughout the year? #EarthDay #earthday2024 #protectourplanet

I participated in a stream cleanup in Roxbury township with a few of my NJSWEP colleagues. This event was part of the Raritan Headwaters Association's annual stream cleanup. Thanks to Stephanie Rogacki, MS, CSM for setting up the event. And thanks to Nancy van Dyke, PG, LEED AP for being patient with my canoe skills.
