As we follow the devastating effects of yet another major hurricane hitting the southeastern United States, we are concerned for our SPECTRAFORCE team as well as the communities in which they live. At SPECTRAFORCE, we place human connection at the forefront of everything we do. The need for care, connection, and collective action is more critical than ever. In the wake of Hurricanes Milton and Helene, we are making donations to the Food Bank of Eastern and Central North Carolina (https://lnkd.in/ewVDbZZp), with whom we have an ongoing partnership, and the Red Cross(https://lnkd.in/guV33BD). We invite you to join us in offering your support if you’re able to. We are also organizing our team members to volunteer with the Diaper Bank of North Carolina (https://lnkd.in/g8wy3E9d) as well as put together gift bags, including hand warmers, mittens, and flashlights, to a local community organization that is delivering supplies to western North Carolina in the coming weeks. It goes without saying that the effects of a warming planet are increasingly dangerous and alarming, and at SPECTRAFORCE, we’re committed to continuing to develop and apply corporate sustainability practices, and hope you will, too.

In light of the increasing frequency of natural disasters, Walmart's recent initiative to deploy disaster response mobile units is commendable. These units, operated by skilled nonprofit professionals, have already significantly impacted Northwest Arkansas, offering essential services like hot meals, clean laundry, hot showers, and charging stations with Wi-Fi. Walmart's proactive approach, driven by a strong sense of corporate responsibility, provides immediate relief and strengthens community resilience, demonstrating the power of businesses in action. This is a prime example of how companies can make a meaningful difference and build stronger connections with the communities they serve. As businesses, if we promote initiatives that help communities thrive, we contribute to those communities' social and economic well-being, build a more substantial, loyal base, and create a positive impact that enhances our corporate reputation. #business #community #companies #RSE #social #responsibility

Hurricane Helene has wrecked the South East United States. From FL and GA to SC, NC, and beyond, this storm will forever be remembered as one of the most deadly in our country's history. Hurricanes affect beach communities, not mountain communities. This isn't supposed to happen in the mountains to cities like Asheville, NC. Except, perhaps, once every 1000 years. That's what Asheville, NC and surrounding communities now face, that 1 in a 1000 year event. Roads washed away. Entire towns like Chimney Rock, NC swept off the mountainside. Residents left with nothing - no power, no cell service, no water, dwindling food. This is personal. Members of Cattie & Gonzalez can tell you stories of years past when hurricanes have altered our lives. Victims have endured devastating losses, primarily by people lacking the means to rebuild. For some, they will be starting life all over again from square one. This GoFundMe is an attempt to help. As citizens of the United States, we are resilient and steadfast in our desire to help others in the face of overwhelming adversity. Now, more than ever, our strength lies in our solidarity, our fortitude, and our willingness to help one another when facing a time of need. When our neighbors need help, we lend a helping hand. It's what we do. Cattie & Gonzalez wants to help! We will donate all proceeds received to the NC Disaster Relief Fund. Donations made to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund will go to nonprofits working to meet the immediate needs of storm victims such as food and water, cleaning supplies and other emergency supplies. #HurricaneHelene #NorthCarolina #GoFundMe https://lnkd.in/emcB3JBa

We live in a state fortunate enough to only experience small natural disasters. Our hearts go out to those across the country affected by Hurricane Helene. We know how devastating natural disasters can be, and now more than ever, it’s time to come together. Whether through donations, volunteering, or spreading awareness, every effort counts in helping these communities rebuild and recover. Hurricane Helene has caused an estimated $145 to $160 billion in damage, making it one of the costliest storms in U.S. history. The extensive destruction impacted homes, businesses, and infrastructure, particularly along the Gulf Coast and southern Appalachian regions. This figure includes both insured and uninsured losses, along with the economic impact of evacuations, power outages, and disruptions to supply chains. If you can’t get your boots on the ground, please please visit https://lnkd.in/gcbD93iR to learn of ways you can support those affected by hurricane Helene. #hurricanehelene #communitysupport #ehsrestoration

Based in North Carolina, our hearts are heavy with the unprecedented destruction Hurricane Helene has brought to our western counties. Despite the valiant efforts of first responders, the National Guard, utility teams, and volunteers, many of the most severely affected areas remain isolated, struggling to access basic necessities like gas, food, water, electricity, and phone service. The impact has also been felt deeply across Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida with significant damage reported. Although our facilities were not directly affected, it's likely we all know someone—a colleague, friend, family member, neighbor or client—who has been touched by this tragedy. In these challenging times, deciding how best to offer support can be difficult. However, by coming together as a community we have the power to make a positive impact. We encourage you to join us at Alcami in contributing to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund to assist our neighbors on their path to recovery. Alternatively, if you're already connected with a trusted non-profit focused on relief efforts or prefer organizations like the American Red Cross or Salvation Army for your contributions—every bit helps. Let's keep these communities close to our hearts and do whatever we can to support them moving forward. Hurricane Season May Be Ending, But the Need for Help Isn't As another hurricane season approaches a conclusion, the communities devastated by recent storms are just beginning their long journey to recovery. At INFINITT North America, we felt compelled to act. With some of our employees, clients, hospitals, facilities, and imaging centers in the direct path of these powerful hurricanes, we couldn't stand idly by while our "neighbors" suffered. That's why INFINITT has made a charitable donation to the incredible team at Operation Airdrop. Delivering Hope from the Skies ✈ 🛩 🙏 Operation Airdrop's mission is simple yet powerful: to respond swiftly and effectively in times of crisis, ensuring essential supplies reach those in need when traditional routes are compromised. They believe that no community should be left behind during their darkest hours. Through the power of volunteer pilots and a diverse fleet of aircraft, Operation Airdrop fills the gaps in emergency response efforts. While the Tremont campus was spared from the brunt of Hurricane Helene, it’s not business as usual here. We find ourselves distracted, concerned, and heartbroken for our friends, family, and neighbors in East Tennessee and Western North Carolina who have experienced utter devastation. Many are still struggling to find the basic necessities—food, water, and shelter. The recovery process has yet to begin. The rebuilding process will take years. In response to this devastation, we’ve seen a number of programmatic cancellations—from adult naturalist classes, to school groups, to fall hiking trips—and we’re working on rescheduling where possible. We hope to welcome those folks back in the future. Nature is powerful. While time in nature recharges us and promotes connection, we also recognize that nature can be destructive. Inevitably, catastrophes like this change us and our relationship with nature. There are lessons we will take away from all of this. When the time comes, we’ll work to help impacted people find respite and reprieve in nature—rediscovering their sense of well-being and connection in the natural world. But now the focus is on helping our neighbors recover from the storm with the basics they need to survive. Below are a few trusted ways to give monetary support. Please consider helping in any way you can. -Catey McClary, President & CEO East Tennessee Foundation (https://lnkd.in/eRStpMzi) The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina (https://lnkd.in/gxianjPQ) Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee (https://lnkd.in/ejAwyPsU) United Way (https://lnkd.in/g9bCjrzi) World Central Kitchen (https://lnkd.in/eZhPUgvj) American Red Cross - also seeking blood donations (https://lnkd.in/dZg-xd8)
