🔬🚀 Excited to Share My Internship Experience! 🚀🔬
I’m thrilled to share the details of my recent internship project. Over the past two months, I had the incredible opportunity to work on a PoE-Injector controller board under the guidance of an amazing team.
Project Highlights:
• 📊 Objective:
We worked on a plug-in controller board for the PoE injector that had been previously designed at the company. This board includes a microcontroller responsible for generating and controlling I2C signals for interaction with, and control of, the PoE chip on the main board, UART for monitoring, and RMII for connecting to the physical layer of the network.
• 🔄 Process:
First, we learned about network models, PoE standards, and other essential topics. After that, we specifically researched possible chips that would meet our needs. Once we selected the components, we studied their datasheets to understand key considerations and properties before moving into the schematic design phase. We then transitioned into the PCB design phase, which included calculating wire impedances and learning design rules.
• 🤝 Collaboration:
I collaborated with the Hardware Department alongside my teammate, Mehrad. One specific takeaway was learning soft skills such as agile working methods, coaching, and more. I really appreciate the HR Department for organizing these valuable meetings.
• 🛠 Tools & Technologies Used:
Cadence products, specifically Allegro PCB Design, Allegro Entire Design CIS, Polar, and GitHub.
• 🎯 Impact:
We successfully met the project’s goals and completed the layout. In the end, we presented our work during the final demo to the company’s leadership team.
Special Thanks:
I’m grateful to my supervisor and teammate, Mehrad Afshari Nazari, as well as the entire Hardware Department for their support and guidance throughout this journey.
Looking forward to applying these experiences to future projects and contributing further. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
