"Accountability is the glue that ties commitment to the result." One of the most important traits you can have as a leader, professional or just a human being is accountability. The accountable person takes ownership over their actions without automatically blaming others if the desired result isn't reached. This kind of behaviour inspires trust 🔐, confidence and better performance from those around them. At Spirit of Math, students learn accountability by working together in the classroom towards the best possible outcome. They communicate with one another, listen to different perspectives and ask clarifying questions. This mindset will serve them well in the future as the problem solvers and leaders of tomorrow. #SpiritOfMath #SpiritOfEnglish #SpiritOfTech #Accountability #Responsibility #Obligations #Leadership #Trust #Teamwork #EducationMatters #StudentSuccess #FutureLeaders

Stay Humble to Keep Learning As you grow, your mentors—parents, teachers, and bosses—are often more knowledgeable than you. But in leadership roles, you might become one of the smartest in the room. To keep evolving, actively seek out diverse viewpoints and listen to others, particularly those with different backgrounds. Embracing humility in learning means endless growth opportunities. Boost Your Critical Thinking Good decisions stem from critical thinking. Avoid quick fixes and ensure you consider all angles of a topic. Challenge your assumptions, especially in high-stakes situations. Get new perspectives by stepping outside your usual circle and inviting others to test your logic. #LifelongLearning #StayHumble #CriticalThinking #Leadership #PersonalGrowth #ContinuousImprovement #DiversePerspectives #ProfessionalDevelopment

Element 25 of 33 – Better questioner -> Asking better questions often means getting better answers and knowing more today than you did yesterday. Think of the cumulative benefits of that. -> Once you have learned to ask questions – relevant and appropriate and substantial questions – you have learned how to learn and no one can keep you from learning whatever you want or need to know. -> When alone ask yourself - what one thing am I doing wrong that I know I’m doing wrong that I could fix? The answer you get won’t be be that you want but it will be the necessary one. -> Very often you’re getting what you’re asking for you’re just not aware of it. -> There is no effectiveness without discipline and there is no discipline without character and there is no character without first asking questions #leadership #leader #question

Today’s all about how I engage with others. 🤝 Just like before, remember: these scores aren’t grades. They represent where I land on the bell curve. 🎯 High scores mean I’m on one end, low scores on the other, and middle-range scores sit at the top (40-60%). Here’s what my scores say: 82% Extraverted (yep, no surprise there!) 93% Tough (I can definitely be a hard-ass 💪) 43% Nurturing (thought this would be lower, honestly) 98% Leadership (I’ve been “bossy” since grade school!) 56% Humorous (I can crack jokes, but I’m serious when I need to be) I definitely lead with my extraversion and toughness. But that middle-ground humorous score? I’ll take it—it makes sense that I balance being funny with being focused when it matters. #PersonalityAssessment #PrinciplesYou #Leadership #Extraverted #ToughLove #SelfAwareness #TeamEffectiveness #Coaching #ProfessionalDevelopment #FunnyButSerious #LeadershipDevelopment

Leadership Skills I Developed as a Teacher When I reflect on my time as a teacher, I realize it wasn’t just about lesson plans and grading papers—it was about leading with intention, empathy, and clarity every single day. Here are a few leadership skills I developed in the classroom that can be used in any leadership role: 👨🏽🏫Adaptability: Every day brings something unexpected, requiring quick thinking and flexibility. 👨🏽🏫Communication: Explaining complex ideas in ways that resonate with diverse people is essential. 👨🏽🏫Empathy: Understanding each person’s unique needs built trust and connection. 👨🏽🏫Patience: Progress takes time, and every step forward counts. These aren’t just teaching skills—they’re core leadership principles that have shaped how I approach every team, project, and challenge. ❓What’s one skill you’ve gained from an unexpected role that’s shaped your leadership style? Is leadership an inborn quality? 👑 I think it is, to some extent. When my daughter tells me about her classmates like how someone said or did something today, I try to understand that some soft skills are present in children from the very beginning. I studied in a girl's school and I remember there were few girls in my class and also in school who not only participated in every activity and event but also took the lead from organizing to interacting with participants and teachers. Many girls, including me, couldn’t do this maybe due to a lack of self-confidence, fear of failure or inability to manage people properly. I feel this quality becomes very useful later in life, especially when we step into real-life jobs. However, if leadership is not an innate quality, then it’s something that should be nurtured in children from their school days. Teachers and parents should identify such children and encourage them to participate in activities where they can take the lead. This way, when they face real-life challenges in the future, they’ll be better prepared to handle them. 🥇 #leadership #LeadershipSkills #FutureLeaders #BuildingLeaders

A teacher’s character and demeanor significantly impact students’ learning and development. A teacher’s personal qualities, such as integrity, passion, and empathy, can inspire and motivate students, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. Ultimately, the influence of a teacher’s character often leaves a more lasting impression on students than the specific content they teach. Same can applied to leaders. #teachers #inspiration #leadership

When Making a Decision as a Teacher/School Leader, How Many of These Hats Do You Put On? It's easy for educators to focus on the facts and the pros and cons when making a decision. But success in implementation is often about more than just the black and white aspects. We need to also consider the feelings, opinions, and possible contributions of others. I particularly like the key questions we xan and should ask ourselves when making decisions to ensure that our thinking around decision-making is comprehensive. How do you use the "Six Thinking Hats" - by Edward de Bono - as an educator when making a decision? https://lnkd.in/eR--EBg4 #teachingandlearning #schoolleadership #educationmanagement
