A few weeks ago Tasha Mansley went to see the musical ‘Why Am I So Single?’ which is on at the Garrick Theatre for just two more weeks! An amazing show by Lucy Moss and Toby Marlow about the power of platonic love, the brutality of online dating (a.k.a the “meat market”), the experience of growing up gay in the 2000s, and the impact of grief. For anyone who grew up with their ideas of romance shaped by ‘Friends’ or ‘Twilight’ - this is a relatable must see! You can get last minute seats https://lnkd.in/eP-Wmdvv here!

Now begins our favorite way to countdown the year. Last night, we went to Rudolph the Musical. Tavie did her makeup and gave herself freckles that kinda made her look like a reindeer, so it was perfect. It was super cute and NOW means we need to watch the cartoon movie 'cause nostalgia. I also had two lessons and wrote a blog around their school lessons before we went. How are you kickin' off December?? #kickoff #nostalgia #funandfamily #goodtimes #mompreneurs #momsinbusiness #businessmoms #itsbeginningtolookalotlikechristmas

🎭✨ The Tide Rises, Lifting Us All Together 🐾 This week has been one of those magical weeks that makes you stop, reflect, and appreciate the power of shared ideas and collaboration. From conversations with some of the smartest minds in the industry to insightful chats with small business owners blazing their trails, it’s been a week filled with "ah-ha" moments. It felt like one of those moments where the stars align—or should I say, where the witches defy gravity? After a whirlwind of inspiring discussions, I had the chance to dive into Wicked and couldn’t help but see parallels to the magic of collaboration in our own lives. Just like Glinda and Elphaba navigating their intertwined story, we’re all part of a bigger narrative. Each of us, in our own way, contributes to a collective momentum that lifts everyone—whether it’s a start-up founder bringing a dream to life, a seasoned leader sharing hard-earned wisdom, or even discussions around companies like Chewy or Costco Wholesale sparking new ideas for growth and efficiency. In the world of business, especially for those of us in start-ups, it’s easy to feel like you’re treading water alone. But the truth is, when one of us succeeds, we create ripples of opportunity and inspiration for others. That’s the beauty of the phrase, “The tide rises, lifting us all together.” Each win, big or small, adds to the collective tide. Start-ups challenging norms inspire innovation across industries. Seasoned leaders equip the next wave of entrepreneurs with the tools they need to thrive. And honest, collaborative, thought-provoking conversations create a shared momentum that lifts us all higher. So, here’s to the start-ups, the small businesses, the dreamers daring to make waves, and the giants like Chewy, Costco Wholesale reminding us what’s possible. Here’s to every conversation, partnership, and spark of inspiration that helps the tide rise for us all. Cheers to progress, collaboration, and lifting each other up. Let’s keep making waves—and defying gravity—together. 🌊👑 LoftyLoo™ Love! #TheTideRises #LoftyLoo #CollaborationMagic #WickedlyInspired #KeepMakingWaves #CatCare #PetProducts #ElevatedLitterBox
🎥✨ Cats, Broadway, and LoftyLoo—what could be better? Just watched Wicked and couldn’t help but think about how purr-fect it would be to have a fun cat talk with Glinda and Elphaba! After all, even witches need a little magic to make cat care easier. 🐾 LoftyLoo is here to make life better for all cat lovers—whether you’re defying gravity or just trying to keep your furry friend happy and healthy. 🌟 Tell us: if your cat could star in a musical, what role would they play? 🎶🐱 #LoftyLoo #CatCare #PetProducts #BroadwayCats #ElevateYourDay
Every cat deserves an elevated throne. 🐾👑

Theatre or kitchen ❓⬇️ Yesterday, I attended the great musical show “Les Dix Commandements,” and during the grand finale, something extraordinary happened. The final song began, but for about a minute, under the spotlight, no one appeared! This minute felt long enough to realize something wasn’t quite right. Then, it hit me: this was a homage to the original singer, Daniel Levi… And few tears came (yes I am emotional 🥹) Why am I sharing this? Because it’s a powerful reminder of how “spots” can trigger actions and evoke emotions, especially in theater 🎭. It’s all about focusing on those crucial moments to grasp the full scenario. 🌍🌱This experience resonates with me, especially considering our work at SpotLight Earth. Just like in the show, we need to focus on key areas to understand the bigger picture of #CCS and make impactful decisions. Another example on top of the fire alarm 🚨, don’t hesitate to tell me which one you prefer (or if you disagree with all) #TheaterLife #EmotionalImpact #SpotLightEarth #FocusAndAction #monitoring #MMV

One of my favorite lines from the musical Hamilton is when Burr says to Hamilton “talk less, smile more.” So many of us have a tendency to overexplain, to give more information than is necessary, and to talk to fill what we think will be an awkward silence. Next time you’re in a conversation, try Burr’s advice - talk less and smile more. State your case, and then stop. Give the other party time to process. Don’t rush to fill in the conversation. The silence always seems longer to us than to them. #ProTip #EffectiveCommunication #SayLess #SitWithTheSilence #LeadershipSkills #ExecutiveCoaching #ProfessionalGrowth

Memoirs are a powerful medium, capturing not only the essence of an individual’s journey but also the cultural and historical context surrounding their experiences. Gypsy Rose Lee’s memoir stands as a prime example of how personal stories can transcend generations, shaping narratives and offering insights into the lives behind the public personas. Writing memoirs is about preserving authenticity, ensuring the true story comes from the one who lived it. As in the case of Gypsy, it allows us to see beyond the myth and into the human complexity of ambition, reinvention, and resilience. Memoirs become legacies, giving readers and future generations a chance to connect with history through a deeply personal lens. For anyone contemplating their own memoir, consider it not just an act of storytelling but an act of reclamation, telling your story before others define it for you. At Ceres Inks, we’re passionate about helping stories like these come to life with authenticity and impact. Ready to share yours? Let us help you get started.
In the 1930s, Gypsy Rose Lee, perhaps the world’s most famous stripper, helped transform burlesque from a vulgar pastime to café-society entertainment, simply by acting refined. Lee’s 1957 memoir—called “Gypsy”—was adapted for Broadway in a lightning-quick few months by an unbeatable supergroup: the book writer Arthur Laurents, the lyricist Stephen Sondheim, the composer Jule Styne, and the director Jerome Robbins. In the years since, the mythical version of Gypsy’s mother, Rose, has eclipsed Gypsy’s own fame. There’s a pantheon of terrifying Roses now: she can appear as a gorgon (Ethel Merman, Patti LuPone) or as a vain, manipulative pixie (Bernadette Peters). With the fifth Broadway revival of the legendary musical, now at the Majestic, the director George C. Wolfe humanizes the famously monstrous stage mother—with some help from Audra McDonald, the once-in-a-generation soprano megastar and winner of six Tony Awards. "Stormy Weather" This great creative musical, which premiered on July 21, 1943, showcased an all African-American cast, including Lena Horne, Bill "Bojangles" Robinson, and Cab Calloway. The plot is a conventional Hollywood boy meets girl; boy loses girl; boy finds girl affair. In addition, the movie, produced by white studio executives, suffers from some racial stereotyping. After all, it was produced during a time of considerable racial intolerance. The fact the movie was produced at all is remarkable. But the musical numbers are pure joy. You can watch the whole movie at no cost and enjoy such great songs as "Ain't Misbehavin", "I Can't Give You Anything but Love, Baby" and, of course, "Stormy Weather" at the link. As the website 4 Star Films observes, "Stormy Weather takes ... a vast collection of talent from vaudeville and Broadway to Hollywood and lets it shine. Despite its share of flaws, what remains is a phenomenal array of artists, performers, and visionaries. Stormy Weather is an important remembrance and historical document, lest we forget how diverse and rich American culture really is." The Library of Congress selected "Stormy Weather" for preservation in the National Film Registry as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." Creativity happens every day. There will always be obstacles, like prejudice and ignorance, and your efforts may not result in perfection, but never allow these to stop you from acting creatively. https://lnkd.in/eBU985vV
