Our ancestors were very wise. They knew how to build strong communities. They used faith to guide people. Take Diwali as an example: It’s not just a festival; it’s a thoughtfully planned event that benefits everyone in society. During Diwali: 🪔 • We buy pots, which helps potters earn money. • We buy new clothes and utensils, supporting shopkeepers and craftsmen. • When we buy sugarcane, it supports farmers. • When we buy oil lamps, it helps local artisans. • We donate old clothes to those in need. • We give gifts or money to our household helpers, sweepers, and others, so they can support their families too. Diwali is a time to exchange sweets, share joy, and light our homes with oil lamps, bringing positive energy and warmth. We clean our houses, making them feel fresh and welcoming. This festival is designed not only to celebrate but also to spread wealth, happiness, and kindness across our communities. Diwali is truly a festival for everyone—young or old, from any background. It brings us together and fills our lives with joy and prosperity.

Diwali, the festival of lights, is a time for joy, celebration, and togetherness. Homes are illuminated with diyas, rangolis adorn the floors, and the air is filled with the aroma of sweets and festive cheer. But let's remember that Diwali is also a time to give back and spread kindness. One could celebrate differently, too. Instead of the usual festivities, why not invite a lonely neighbor, volunteer at an NGO, spend time with the elderly, share love with street animals, or donate to a cause close to your heart? Let's make this Diwali a festival of giving, compassion, and joy. How are you celebrating this Diwali? Share in the comments section! 𝐀 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐢! 🪔 I am not suggesting that you don’t eat mithai or become apathetic towards your Diwali décor and your outfit. 🙏🏼All I am saying is that Diwali symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance … maybe we apply these themes to our personal and spiritual growth? 🔰Get curious about where to donate so those less fortunate can enjoy the festival too! 🔰Check in on those who might be grieving or have no family around this Diwali. 🔰Share your traditions and food🫶🏼 Aside from organizing a Diwali dinner with friends and family at home, I love to pack “mithais” for my non-desi community❤️ 🔰 If someone has had a challenging year, can you bring them a small gift? The cost and size don’t matter … it could be a chocolate. But you are reminding someone that they matter and are loved when they might be thinking that the universe has forgotten them. 🔆 🔆🔆Spirituality is a process. It starts with pausing, reflecting, asking questions, staying curious, and understanding that we are all connected. 🔆🔆🔆 ☮️ How to be a better person? How to care less about whose life looks more glamorous on social media? How to really help others, especially when you won’t get anything in return? How to open your home and hearts to those who are alone or feeling lonely this Diwali? How to be intentional about not hurting others? 🪷 🪔🦋 The choices we make as individuals impact us, our families, our friends, our communities, and the world-at-large. Like a Diwali diya, the aura of good intention can light up the darkest corners of the world and heaviest of hearts. May this Diwali light up your home, hearts, and spiritual journey. 🦋🪔🪷 #diwalivibes #spiritualwisdom #diwalimessage #humanityaboveeverythingelse

🌟 Celebrating Diwali with Light and Love for All 🌟 As we prepare to celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights, let's remember that the spirit of Diwali lies not only in bright lights and joyous gatherings but also in sharing happiness with those around us. This year, let’s extend the festival’s warmth to those who need it most—children and families living below the poverty line. Here are some ways we can make Diwali brighter for everyone: 1. Share the Joy of Gifts 🎁 A small gift can bring an enormous smile. Consider contributing toys, books, clothes, or essentials to children and families in need. Many NGOs accept donations specifically for Diwali, making it easy to share joy. 2. Celebrate Together 🎉 Organize a small event or gathering in your community to celebrate Diwali with those who might not have a chance to experience the festivities. Spend time with them, share sweets, and create memories together. 3. Donate for Education and Welfare 📚 Diwali is an ideal time to support educational programs or skills training for underprivileged youth. Even a small contribution can be a stepping stone for children to access brighter futures. 4. Focus on Sustainable, Eco-Friendly Celebrations 🌍 Let’s make this Diwali inclusive and sustainable. Instead of firecrackers, consider activities that are eco-friendly but still full of joy—like lighting diyas, decorating homes, and encouraging art and creativity. Let’s spread light not only in our homes but also in the lives of others, fostering a Diwali celebration filled with compassion and inclusivity. After all, Diwali’s true spirit is about shining a light on every path we cross. ✨ Wishing everyone a safe, joyful, and impactful Diwali! 💫 #Diwali2023 #FestivalOfLights #CelebrateWithPurpose #InclusionAndJoy #GiveBack

This Diwali let us appreciate the people around us while they are still alive and with us. In a world that seems more and more uncertain by the day, with things and people taken away from us in the blink of an eye, it is important that we appreciate them when they are alive. Do it when the person is alive and can see and feel how important that person is to you and the impact they have had on others. On social media I see few names trending and people posting old pictures and celebrating the lives of people after they are gone. Unfortunately, they aren’t alive to see all this, and that’s super sad. Yes a legacy lives on and we will remember people, but the most important thing is that we should start recognizing the importance of appreciating those we hold dear while they’re still here to hear it. Be generous with your thanks. Take time to express appreciation. Write a note. Send a text. Or the old-fashioned way, pick up the telephone and talk. By intentionally showing appreciation to the people, we care about while they are alive, we create a positive and nurturing environment that strengthens our relationships and brings joy to everyone involved. Give flowers to people when they are alive and not on their funeral. So, go ahead and reach out to someone you appreciate right now. Let them know how much they mean to you.

#ThoughtfulGifting With Diwali around the corner, we are all thinking about giving gifts. But here’s something I’ve learned as an organizing professional: don’t gift clutter! 🎁✨ Before picking up something, ask yourself, “Will this be useful, or will it just take up space?” So many gifts end up unused, adding to someone’s clutter instead of joy. Let’s keep this Diwali meaningful. Choose gifts that bring value and simplicity to others’ lives. Less clutter, more joy! #Diwali2024 #LessIsMore #OrganizedLiving
