There are 454 days to go until the start of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. Behind the scenes, preparations are in full swing for an event that is much more than a sporting competition: it’s a celebration of sport, culture, and territory. But how does one organise an Olympics of this magnitude? Organising the Games is an incredible challenge. Everything is coordinated through a Master Schedule provided by the International Olympic Committee, a very detailed plan that guides every action. To monitor risks and opportunities, the RADIO (Risk, Action, Decision, Issue, Opportunity) system is used, allowing real-time action to ensure that nothing is left to chance. Each host location has a strategic function: Milan for hockey and figure skating , Cortina for bobsleigh and curling , Anterselva for biathlon , Livigno for alpine skiing , and so on. This distribution among different territories creates a true "Olympic mosaic" , enhancing the unique expertise of each location. An event of this size is a collective effort : professionals from all over the world , many from previous Olympics, work together to ensure that every detail is covered. Their commitment and expertise are the true heartbeat of the Olympics. Milan-Cortina 2026 will be more than an extraordinary sporting experience; it will also leave a lasting legacy for Italy and its territories. We’re all ready to experience an unforgettable edition! Exciting news for triathlon fans and athletes! 🇫🇷🏊♂️🚴♀️🏃♂️ France has just been added to the T100 Triathlon World Tour calendar for 2025, marking a significant expansion of this prestigious event. As someone who's followed the growth of triathlon over the years, I can't help but reflect on how far we've come. I remember when triathlon was considered a niche sport. Now, it's capturing global attention and drawing elite athletes from all corners of the world. This addition of France to the T100 calendar isn't just about another race. It represents: 1. The sport's growing international appeal 2. Increased opportunities for athletes to compete at the highest level 3. A boost for local economies through sports tourism But here's what I'm really curious about: • How will this impact the competitive landscape? • What unique challenges might the French course present? • Are we seeing the beginning of a new "golden age" for triathlon? Whether you're a seasoned triathlete or a casual fan, this is an exciting development to watch. It's a reminder that our sport is constantly evolving and reaching new heights. What are your thoughts on this expansion? Are you planning to compete or spectate in France in 2025? Let us know in the comments! #Triathlon #T100WorldTour #SportsEvolution #FranceTriathlon #EnduranceSports

It's great for some OREC sports to be in the Olympics and resulting growing interest. In particular, I think Sport "Speed" Climbing is a super spectator friendly competition. One on one with speed and heights. It has the chance to really increase exposure to more folks and, with it, based on man-made recreation infrastructure (climbing walls) - open climbing to more urban (i.e. higher population density and potential user volume locations). Which, in turn, will get more people climbing in general to support sport, industry, and related causes. Some of my favorite speed climbing events I've attended and watched were at the Tuck Fest at the US National Whitewater Center outside of Charlotte, NC. Their finals are during the live music at night with lighted (glowing) holds over water with no belay. You fall to a big splash (https://lnkd.in/gvntuhsP)! It's quite the spectacle and very worthwhile. https://lnkd.in/e7BqwGxn It's also great to see the paddling, biking, and other OREC type events that maybe aren't "mainstream" team sports, but do have high volume of usage. These activities can always use more public introduction and support to not only create the future competitors, but also create cyclical support for the infrastructure and related OREC industry, and its many causes through progression infrastructure that builds vested consumers and users.
