Greg Maday, BSBA ’86, believes that success in business is all about relationships and having an entrepreneurial mindset. After excelling as a commercial mortgage broker, he found his true passion in manufacturing, where he built lasting connections with customers. Today, Maday is the CEO of SpecChem, co-owner of Sporting Kansas City, and a founder of several ventures, including Homefield KC and Rock Island Capital LLC. Raised in St. Joseph, Missouri, Maday’s journey from humble beginnings to entrepreneurial success was driven by his work ethic, desire to succeed, and the belief that treating people with respect leads to lasting success. He credits his Mizzou education with providing the foundation for his career and lifelong relationships. “Trulaske taught me how to learn and think for myself,” he said. “It also showed me that it was my responsibility to seek out opportunities and turn them into something positive. It was a place where you created lasting relationships which connected you to the real-world workplace.
