According to this research and despite modest female representation progress in senior leadership roles, Black women still face unique barriers to reaching the upper ranks, and their much slower promotion pace has led them to, on average, take more frequent career risks than their white counterparts. Companies should take a holistic view and facilitate organizational changes that create positive leadership experiences for all employees and elicit more opportunities for minority leaders to emerge.

🌟 My research on Black women in C-suite reveals a powerful truth: They chose to THRIVE, not just survive. For too long, the narrative has been about survival: • Not being turned invisible • Refusing to be humiliated • Fighting to be heard But what if we changed the script? What does thriving look like? • Empowerment to lead without fear of hyper-scrutiny • Freedom to innovate without the burden of representation • Ability to be authentically yourself, unapologetically The secret? Strategic choices. These trailblazers: ✅ Carefully select their battles ✅ Sometimes say 'no' to opportunities that don't align ✅ Seek environments that nurture, not drain To emerging Black women leaders: 1. Recognise that different environments either fuel or stifle your growth 2. Early in your career, gain experience, but stay aware 3. As you progress, be selective. Your energy is precious Remember: Thriving comes at a cost – the courage to choose wisely. You deserve more than survival. You deserve to flourish, to lead, to change the game. Are you surviving or thriving? What's one step you can take today to move towards thriving? #BlackWomenLead #CareerStrategy #LeadershipJourney #AuthenticLeadership To my network: How can we create more environments where Black women leaders don't just survive, but truly thrive?
