The Biosphere Partnership actively and successfully promotes sustainable tourism. It believes a National Park in Galloway, South and East Ayrshire has much to offer. This is what they say: “For more than 12 years we have been working in support of sustainable, community-led tourism, collaborating with communities, local development trusts, destination marketing organisations and others to put the southwest on the global map, including through award-winning campaigns such as Scotland’s UNESCO Trail. “A Galloway National Park would bring additional resources and recognition offering the opportunity to further this work to embed responsible, nature-friendly tourism in the visitor economy and ensuring communities benefit directly from the opportunities it brings.” See the Biosphere website here: https://lnkd.in/eag4gf4K Fill in the NatureScot online consultation now https://lnkd.in/eVg5uXfT Access the Galloway National Park Information Hub here https://lnkd.in/eubJcbrX #greatforgallloway #gallowaynationalpark #sustainabletourism

Although it's been many months away from LinkedIn, I'm excited to share my first seminar presentation ever in school. I recently had the privilege of presenting on the topic: "Overtourism and the quest for balancing patronage in ecotourism sites:Strategies for a balanced ecotourism " on this topic, I explored, 📌 The challenge of overtourism on natural environments. 📌 The difference between overtourism and mass tourism. 📌 Strategies for sustainable tourism development that balance visitor satisfaction and ecotourism business. 📌 I recommended actions to promote ecotourism. This experience did not only deepen my understanding for a sustainable tourism but also opened my mind to the roles the tourist and local communities have to play to conserve our ecosystem. A big thank you to my supervisor Dr kukoyi for his guidance in my seminar topic choice and support with the research work. I am eager to continue the conservation and hear your thoughts. How do you think we can better manage overtourism while balancing patronage in ecotourism sites? #overtourism #ecotourism #sustainabletourism #seminarpresentation #hospitalitybusinesses.
