Why We Remember: Unlocking Memory’s Power to Hold on to What Matters, with Charan Ranganath FREE Webinar: May 14th at noon (EST) We may think memory is merely remembering someone’s name, where we put the car keys, or where we went on vacation five years ago. But, Dr. Charan Ranganath illuminates the profound significance of memory beyond mere recollection of the past in his recent book, Why We Remember: Unlocking Memory’s Power to Hold on to What Matters. In this illuminating webinar, Dr. Charan Ranganath, renowned neuroscientist and psychologist, through accessible language and compelling examples, will reshape our understanding of memory, showcasing its transformative potential in shaping our perceptions, biases, and self-awareness. By harnessing this power, Ranganath suggests, we can enhance daily functioning, mitigate memory loss, and even embark on a journey of personal growth and healing. Reflecting on My Keynote Speaking Experience at My Alma Mater! Few weeks back, I had a chance to be one of the keynote speakers at my Alma mater at Barca. I couldn’t hold back from sharing the experience, therefore here it is, Standing in front of the familiar faces of my alma mater, I felt a wave of nostalgia and excitement as I took the stage as one of the many keynote speakers. The opportunity to address some current students, esteemed faculty, and notable and illustrious alumni was an honor, a learning and a humbling experience. It indeed was a dreamlike moment to share the same platform with them and I literally seized the opportunity to learn from their insights and experiences. (I am sure some of them would have learnt something from me as well) As I was addressing, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in how far I have come since my days as a student. Reflecting on my own achievements and the challenges that I had to overcome, I aimed to inspire the audience with my story and impart valuable lessons learned and also explain the challenges faced by steel industries, sustainability, net zero emission and also gave a brief note on Gen AI impacts. One of the most enriching aspects of the event was my chance to engage in meaningful conversations with the attendees. By connecting with fellow alumni, I gained valuable perspectives that broadened my horizons and deepened my understanding of various fields. Being a keynote speaker at my alma mater was not just a chance to share my experiences—it was a reaffirmation of the enduring impact of education and the importance of giving back to the community that helped pave the way for our success. In the end, the experience left me inspired. And as I left the event, I carried with me not only fond memories but also a sense of purpose and gratitude for the journey that had brought me back to where it all started. 🙏 🙏 🙏 There is always 2 sides of anything, therefore learnt few other things as well, :) like - As students, my friend and I chased money like it was the ultimate thing , (trying to invent something, make patents and earn royalty-ultimately no inventions and no patent). Now, he's rich and says, Money is nothing. It’s so funny how it’s easy to say that when you’re lounging in a pool of it. (Earn enough to say money is not that important) 😀

If you haven't heard about the Phoenix Gate event led by Dr Vivian Magnus, you're missing out! It's like a free masterclass, and I'm hooked. Since I don't gatekeep, here are my key takeaways from yesterday's session: 📌 The Importance of Showing Up: If we don't talk about our services or skills, who will? I mean, how will anyone know about my administrative support services if I don't share what I do? 📌 Perfection is a Myth: We don't need to be perfect to start. Constant reading and self-development are key to growing into someone others want to work with. 📌 The Power of Storytelling: Our unique experiences are our superpowers. Telling your story with authenticity and consistency, while leveraging technology, can set you apart. I'm so grateful to Dr Vivian Magnus for organizing these impactful event every week. Special thanks to these speakers: M. Olusola Sowemimo🎤🌿_FIAMN Olawumi Heavens Margaret Martinez, Dr. Cheryl Cooper, PhD, Izu Samuel. Janice Julcit Adedeji. I appreciate your time and knowledge shared. PS: Which of these points resonated with you most? let me know in the comments.
