Starting November 1st, the Central Bank is imposing new rules for Pix transactions. Aiming to enhance safety and fraud combat, the maximum amount for payments made on devices not registered with the bank will be BRL 200. Additionally, when using a new phone, the daily limit for Pix transactions will be restricted to BRL 1000. 🚀 Exciting Updates from the Brazilian Central Bank! The Brazilian Central Bank (BC) has rolled out important updates to Pix for better security and convenience. 📅 Mark your calendars for June 16, 2025, the launch date for Auto Pix! What's New? 🔒 Enhanced Security: Unregistered devices can make Pix transactions up to R$200 (daily limit R$1,000). Bigger transactions need registered devices. Banks must use fraud management tools to spot unusual Pix transactions. Every six months, banks need to check if customers are flagged for fraud and take action accordingly. These changes make it tougher for fraudsters to misuse stolen details. 💡 Auto Pix: Auto Pix will make recurring payments a breeze for businesses like utilities, schools, and gyms. Ease for Payers: Set up automatic payments without needing to confirm each time. Cost Savings for Receivers: Cuts down on collection costs and reduces missed payments. All updates take effect on November 1, making Pix safer and more user-friendly. 🚀🔒💡 #FinTech #Banking #DigitalPayments #Pix #Security #Innovation #AutoPix #LetPay

Pix - the role model of instant payments. It simply proves that there is so much value locked in the traditional banking but with the right mindset it can be unleashed. And look these very credible success factors: 1. Strong communication strategy was needed, including the definition of a name and a brand that was easily perceived by the population. 2. We had no fees for individuals initiating a Pix account. 3. We opened up the ecosystem to any PSP, including through indirect access to the settlement platform, promoting a highly competitive environment and, consequently, high quality service and low fees for companies and merchants. 4. We had a strong user-centred approach, defining minimum requirements for the user experience in order to minimise friction and developing standard application programming interfaces (APIs) for merchants’ integration with PSPs. 5. We were interested in many use case approaches, helping Pix to achieve ubiquity. 6. We have a well-defined governance structure, in which Banco Central do Brasil is the rulebook owner and in which there is intense public–private interaction through the Pix Forum, where any stakeholder can give their input on the rules created in the ecosystem. 7. We ensured the development of robust security mechanisms.
