🎡 (NON) -Entertainment in Malls 🛍️ >>> Why?   After #MerlataBloom in Milan…let’s now check another large mall..not far from it (10km / 15-20 min). #IlCentro located in Arese (the #alfaromeo cars historical factory location, today turned into a museum) north of Milan, is one of Italy's largest #shopping malls, inaugurated in 2016. It spans almost 100,000 square meters. The architectural concept features tree-lined avenues and a #sustainable wooden roof structure. The mall offers a diverse tenant mix, including international brands like #Primark, #H&M, and #Zara, and focuses on fashion & dining. I was based in #Malaysia at the times of the big malls construction and expansion from 2007. Malls used to have an anchor tenant such as #parkson or #isetan. In il centro mall, who is the anchor tenant, if any? I would say there is none and nowadays the mall will not waive our a brand in favour of another just in the sake of "being the anchor". It had the fist #kfc in italy, which created quite an interest (and long Q's!) What about #entertainment? There is no dedicated entertainment area or classic #FEC. No #Cinema. On the main corridor there is a nice permanent woody playground. I have to say that for a mall of this size and magnitude my expectation was again higher in terms of size and variety of the entertainment area. From time to time the mall place additional temporary features in a vacant area on 1st floor a good example was last year’s Neveplast temporary #drift #karting.   Again, I see a growing potential for indoor FEC’s in this market.
