With over 25 years experience as a Creative Director, Show Director, and Entertainment Producer, I am passionate about delivering innovative and impactful productions across various platforms. From large-scale events to big production shows, fashion shows, music concerts, theatre productions, immersive experiences, brand campaigns, media productions and special moments. My best moments in the whole process is what I call the two beginnings. When I get to sit down face to face with my client over a cup of coffee to listen to their vision and story, that first creative meeting, that's where my magic begins. Then at the end, when my client gets to see their vision and story heard, seen and received, that's where their magic begins. These are the two moments I enjoy most. Beautiful beginnings. #creativedirector #showdirector #conceptualisation #creativity #toptotail

BMW Group’s short-film collection The Hire is one of the finest examples of branded integration I’ve ever seen. Produced by Ridley and Tony Scott’s RSA Films and helmed by the world’s greatest directors, The Hire follows Clive Owen as “The Driver” steering a different model BMW in each episode. This tactic of combining art and advertising goes a step beyond branded content or product placement – with branded integration, the entire show revolves around a particular product. Famous examples of branded integration in film are of course Transformers, G.I. Joe and Barbie, but there are also less conspicuous efforts, such as The Social Network and Robert Zemeckis’ Cast Away. I know it sounds a bit far-fetched – perhaps even inappropriate – to call the Tom Hanks classic an example of branded integration, but if you really think about it, FedEx, its products and employees are a huge part of the narrative in Cast Away. Obviously, the film isn’t an outright commercial for the company – for one thing, the story involves one of their cargo planes quite graphically crashing into the ocean – but one can see how the FedEx brass saw the PR potential and chose to participate anyway. After all – one of the loveliest story-details in the film is that Hanks eventually personally delivers all the parcels that washed up on the island with him. I can think of no better and more effective plot for a thirty-second ad than that. Branded integration has always fascinated me, and I refuse to dismiss it as a distasteful element of film and television production. In fact – I believe that if done right, it is not only a great tool for brand awareness and a way to fix financing-issues, it can greatly enhance story-engagement as well. Cast Away and The Hire are phenomenal examples of this unique type of synergy, and I’ve included the episode Guy Ritchie directed for BMW to illustrate my point. One of LogLine Entertainment’s pillars is the development of branded-integration pitches for likeminded companies. I have taken the liberty to write several spec-scripts featuring both established and evolving brands, and would love to take it to the next level with the right people. I had a great time auditing Brian Nefsky’s (of Walt Disney Imagineering ) “Voices in the Park” at Voice Trax West (where I’ve also had the pleasure of teaching in the past as well as studying with some of my favorite people). In this class, I expected to get a window into a very niche area of voiceover: voicing for the in-park needs of the collection of worldwide The Walt Disney Company parks. And I did indeed get that. I got WAY more than that though. Brian who’s been 35 years with #disney & 30 years in the job of park #casting had INCREDIBLE insight to share on #acting, on #auditioning , on #voiceover . This was HANDS DOWN an acting & auditioning class...that just happened to be about a super-interesting niche of the business. I learned a lot & had a lot of my own perspectives bolstered and reinforced. A pleasure to attend. Tom's Takeaways (quotes are Brian's): • "[On these theme park rides] people sometimes wait their entire lives to get here...and you are the [vocal] representative of this park." • "You're giving a message but you're also playing a character." • "The amount of times a regular safety speaking-voice announcement is heard is immeasurable." • "You [ #actors ] take whatever you have in life and make it into an asset." • [on auditioning] "You have to think in terms of what will set you apart. I'm getting 60 or more auditions, you have to do something to stand out." • "Lean into the magic of Disney. You're putting the pixie dust on top of the castle." • "It's all about the attitude that changes the delivery; the point-of-view impacts the copy." • All around, I observed that this genre (park announcement VO) is slower than animation. It shouldn't be conflated with #animation trends simply because animation is such a big part of what Disney does. It truly stands apart as a genre. • "There's a tremendous amount of fear that actors have about 'doing it wrong'. [You must] come in with some kind of perspective...You can't be afraid to make a choice." • "I'd rather have an audition come in hotter than colder. Underwhelming does not pay off." • "I'd think the reason you do these classes is so that you can come up with a philosophy of doing this work." • "Play up the pixie dust in this copy and you will go far." - - - #voiceover #voiceacting #voiceoverlife #thickskincreations from the #virtualdeskandnotebookoftomantonellis #tomantonellis #voiceartsawardsnominee #choicevoicesolution | Tom Antonellis #actor , #voiceoverartist , #voicematch specialist , #dialectcoach | #podcast co-host of #backthroughthebasement | Rep - #thelibraryagency
