Update # 40 When I started working with AI, I made the same mistake I now see many organizations stumble into: trying to build massive, all-encompassing agents. At first, I thought creating a single agent to tackle everything would be the ultimate breakthrough. But putting that into practice felt like asking one person to master every job in an organization. The results? Predictably underwhelming. The real power in AI comes from starting small and staying specific. Take claims as an example. Instead of building a generic “Claims Copilot,” I began asking, “What are the core tasks here?” Eligibility determination? Benefit calculations? By breaking down workflows into manageable, measurable pieces, I discovered we could create solutions that were smarter, more adaptable, and more precise. This approach delivers results. Every focused win builds momentum, paving the way for broader transformations—AI that genuinely integrates with human expertise and delivers real, measurable value. In AI, specificity isn’t just practical; it’s powerful.
