The art of squeegeeing. After 4 years I’ve learnt that its not that easy to clean a window properly, in fact still to this day the hardest it’s the hardest learning curve for our techs when they first come on board. We know that when we hire someone new for the field that they won’t be able to generate any revenue efficiently from cleaning a window traditionally (this means with a squeegee instead of other methods) until they’ve practiced it about 20 hours on various windows and even then it takes at least another week before they become efficient at it. It really is an art to glide the rubber using what we call “fanning” to squeegee all the water off the glass for that spotless clean. Yes, we also use more modern methods of cleaning like water fed poles however none of our field staff relies only on using water fed poles, they all know how to squeegee the right way which we take pride in.

I just ran my Cut-To-Length line an entire shift. Where did the time go? Out of that shift, how much time did my line actually produce product? When the line was not cutting parts, why was it not running? Intangibles like these can be hard to track on paper. But there’s a solution. You're cleaning the cleaning machine!?!? 🤣🤣🤣 I had someone walk by and make this joke earlier today. It was funny, no doubt. But yes, I was cleaning the cleaning machine. People don't take care of their equipment, plain and simple! Let's talk money! You spend $15,000 on a new autoscrubbing machine and NOTHING ruins it faster than using it and leaving it dirty. It's the most common oversight and the easiest thing to perform. This particular machine in a span of 3 years has needed no major repairs, doesn't smell of mildew, and performs when I need it to. If you have an auroscrubber, all it takes is to: ● Drain and rinse the recovery tank. Leave recovery lid open to dry. ● Remove front skirt, pads, and pad holders. Clean, rinse, and replace when necessary. ● Remove squeegee blade. Clean and rinse. DO NOT store on it's upright as to not tear the blades. ● Check battery compartment area for any water that may have dripped and wipe away. ● Wipe the entire machine down. All it takes is 10 minutes to maintain a valuable asset and to keep it in tip-top shape. How important is your equipment?
