In KGI's Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) program, fieldwork experiences are carefully structured to build competency through progressive real-world engagement. Our Level I fieldwork integrates directly with coursework, allowing students like Daniel to apply classroom learning in supervised clinical settings. Through partnerships with facilities like Hillcrest Assisted Living, students develop practical skills in assessment, intervention planning, and therapeutic relationship building while working with diverse populations. Original Post from Daniel Moss, OTD-S Had a very meaningful Level 1A Fieldwork experience at Hillcrest Assisted Living the past 2 months. Grateful for these valuable experiences that Keck Graduate Institute has to provide to the OTD students to further our knowledge we have learned from the classroom, and being able to put it into practice out in the field. #OccupationalTherapy #FieldworkEducation #KeckGrad #ClinicalEducation #FutureOT

Part of a Vocational Consultant’s scope of practice comprises of evaluating individuals to identify areas of need requiring attention to ensure the individual is prepared for a future RTW. Certain needs require the attention of other specialized professionals, ranging from occupational therapist, physiotherapists, etc. Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals are adept at coordinating rehabilitative, medical and vocational components to determine an individual’s underlying barriers for a RTW. A Vocational Rehabilitation Professional is equipped with the tools to search and collaborate with various other professionals with the expertise and capability of addressing our client’s needs, ensuring apt methods are utilized to progress the client towards a RTW. A Vocational Rehabilitation Professional is not only responsible for facilitating a RTW, but ensuring an individual is able to walk through and continue with a RTW as its progresses. With RTW plans, feedback and responses from an individual participating in a RTW plan is essential to consider; oftentimes a RTW plan might require adjustments/accommodations to best fit the needs of an individual as they work up towards their pre-disability work expectations and tasks. At IVRS, you can expect to receive support from our Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals every step of the way. #DisabilityManagement #WorkplaceInclusion #RehabilitationSupport #RTWSupport #InclusiveWorkplace #RehabilitationProfessionals

Resource Share: Occupational therapists provide crucial supports for many of the needs exhibited by people diagnosed with FASD. OTs are skilled in so many areas like sensory processing, fine motor, ADLs, and executive functioning. The strategies in this article are clear, concise, and overall pretty solid. I do not believe the reward or token system in the behavioral section is a good strategy. However, I totally support positive reinforcement especially making and effort to catch children/students doing things well and pointing them out. #fasd #neurodiversity #buildonstrengths #supportsandstrategies #invinciblenotinvisible #OT #SLP #FASDinformedtherapist #i2ifasdservices https://lnkd.in/e3hJ3Y_b

Edgewood College is excited to introduce an innovative Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program, designed to address the evolving needs of today’s health care landscape. What sets Edgewood College’s OTD program apart is its hybrid, accelerated format. Unlike traditional three-year, face-to-face programs, this two-year program allows students to remain in their own communities while advancing their education. The curriculum includes online coursework and on-campus immersive labs during the first year, followed by hands-on clinical experiences in the second year. This approach makes the program more accessible and allows students to enter the workforce faster. More at https://lnkd.in/enAz45z2 #WAICU

The National Student Survey of 2024 for the European Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (part-time) highlighted several positive aspects! We continuously work on further developing our programme and take student feedback to heart! 👏❗👇🏽 The program received high scores in areas such as the general atmosphere (4.82), teachers' expertise (4.73), and the quality of the learning environment. Students felt there was a safe climate for voicing opinions (4.89) and appreciated that their personal circumstances were taken into account (4.44). The connection to professional practice also received favorable ratings (4.09). Only curriculum flexibility and the balance between on-campus and online activities were identified as areas needing improvement. This is a we might have to further explore in order to find out what exactly is not balanced well enough. Overall, satisfaction with the program was significantly higher than in the previous year, indicating an improvement in the student experience and engagement. This is something we are really proud of! 😊 https://lnkd.in/dxBt4Six
