How can we meet the multi-layered needs of broadcast organisations? Our mission has always been to make the complex simple, but never to compromise on the depth and precision that make our monitoring probes so powerful. The key to achieving this is data presentation: giving users the flexibility to access what they need, when they need it, in a way that suits their task best. StreamOverview gets to the heart of the matter when it comes to in-the-moment network performance, which is crucial for time-critical error diagnosis. Diagnostic and maintenance engineers can go deeper with the probe, getting into the nitty-gritty, but for those fighting fires, the StreamOverview interface is an invaluable tool, and represents our commitment to creating tools that meet the multi-layered needs of broadcast organisations. https://lnkd.in/dJ5CHHjx #streamoverview #vb330 #monitoring #broadband #broadcast #engineers #probes #networkperformance Bridge Technologies #insights #technology #IBC2024

🚀 **Understanding 5G: The Cell Broadcast Service & Public Warning System** 📡 Hi everyone! As we dive deeper into the 5G revolution, I wanted to highlight an important yet often overlooked feature: the Cell Broadcast Service (CBS) and its role within the Public Warning System (PWS). The CBS allows essential broadcast messages to reach users across the network, which is especially critical during emergencies. Think about natural disasters—earthquakes, tsunamis, and severe weather. With 5G, these warnings can be swiftly communicated to all users in a specific area, ensuring safety and awareness. The innovative structure behind CBS includes the Cell Broadcast Centre Function (CBCF) that is responsible for all broadcast messages, including public warnings. What sets the PWS apart is its focus on crucial alerts that can save lives. 🙌 When a public warning is issued, the CBCF can create, replace, or cancel messages instantaneously using the AMF (Access and Mobility Management Function) interface. This agility is what makes 5G a game-changer for public safety. As we embrace the future of connectivity, understanding these systems empowers us—with knowledge being our most significant asset. If you're curious about how these mechanisms work or the broader implications of 5G technology, I invite you to join the conversation and explore further! Let's connect and share insights on how 5G is shaping our world. #5G #PublicSafety #CellBroadcast #Innovation #EmergencyManagement

🌐 **Breaking Ground with 5G: The Public Warning System & Cell Broadcast Service** 🚀 Hello LinkedIn Family! As we continue to explore the capacities of 5G technology, one fascinating aspect that stands out is the integration of the **Cell Broadcast Service (CBS)** into our public safety infrastructure. This addition is pivotal for a robust Public Warning System (PWS), helping to alert communities about emergencies such as earthquakes and tsunamis. The CBS operates through a centralized **Cell Broadcast Centre Function (CBCF)** that manages a variety of broadcast messages, ranging from public alerts to paid advertisements. When a threat is imminent, the PWS can send targeted alerts to the public, ensuring we stay informed and safe. What makes this system truly remarkable is its efficiency. It allows authorities to write, replace, or cancel messages seamlessly via a dedicated interface to the Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF). Imagine receiving real-time updates on emergencies directly through your mobile device—it’s a game changer in crisis management! Overall, the CBS and PWS underscore the potential of 5G technology to enhance public safety through swift and reliable communication. As we move into this new era, I'm excited to see how these advancements will shape our everyday lives and keep us connected during critical times. Feel free to share your thoughts on the implications of 5G technology in public safety. Let’s engage in this important conversation together! #5G #PublicSafety #Technology #Innovation #Telecom

Did you know? Traditional network traffic measurement instruments often rely on average metrics over a second to assess network performance. In reality though, a network is subject to ‘microbursts’, a phenomenon in which data packets are transmitted in rapid, oversized bursts. Although these constitute only momentary fluctuations, they have the potential to overflow the buffers of the network stack, undermining broadcast quality. This means that sometimes, it can seem like everything is operating within parameters, when in reality the broadcast is subject to jitter and dropped packets. Fortunately, at Bridge, we have the answer. Find out more here: https://lnkd.in/e7k-JcJb #broadcast #monitoring #packetdrop #microbursting #VB330 #IP

On this day, 10 July 1962, Telstar 1 launched into orbit. This 77-kilogram satellite, developed by Bell Telephone Laboratories, wasn't just another piece of space junk. It was the first satellite to relay television, telephone, and fax signals through space, marking a milestone in communications history. Within hours of its launch, Telstar 1 transmitted the first live transatlantic television feed, connecting Andover, Maine, USA, to Pleumeur-Bodou, France. Viewers marveled at the sight of a waving American flag and a brief speech by President JFK. Telstar 1 had a short but impactful life, operating for just 7 months. It paved the way for the global communications networks we rely on today. Bell Labs' $3 million investment revolutionized the way we connect, laying the groundwork for satellite TV, internet, and mobile communications. Next time you make a call or stream a video, remember: it all started with Telstar 1. ----- Subscribe to the daily newsletter briefdose.substack.com and stay updated on 5 stats from the world of tech & money 🔔
