Please help us raise $10,000 this Holiday Season to support Entre Nous Femmes Housing Society residents! Thanks to the generosity of ENFHS supporters, we launched the Resident Wellness Fund last year, which supports activities that improve residents’ health, well-being and social connections. In 2024, the Resident Wellness Fund directly supported two impactful programs: 1) The Menstrual Equity Program provides free reusable and disposable menstrual products to residents in need. In our first year, 148 residents signed up and received products. “Thank you so much for offering this program. It will save me money that can now go towards food.” – Program Participant 2) The Connecting Neighbours Program, offers small contributions to support resident-led activities in our ENFHS housing communities. This summer, residents organized barbecues, fun-in-sun events, and community gardening days that brought neighbours together. In partnership with Vancouver Coastal Health this December, we’ll host a hot holiday lunch for residents at our seniors building, Capilano House. It will be a wonderful opportunity for residents to come together and enjoy a festive turkey meal with all the fixings. Events like these are only possible thanks to our Resident Wellness Fund. The World Health Organization reports that 1 in 4 older people experience social isolation, and between 5 and 15 percent of adolescents experience loneliness. Combatting social isolation means creating more opportunities for social connections, and The Connecting Neighbours Program allows us to bring people together. Join us today and support the women, gender-diverse groups, single-parent families, seniors and other equity-deserving groups who call Entre Nous Femmes housing communities home. Your donation will make a difference! Please donate by going to the ENFHS website: https://enfhs.ca/donate/ Or the ENFHS CanadaHelps page: https://lnkd.in/gGGGDw49 If you wish to donate by cheque or e-transfer or discuss donations of land, buildings, or securities, please get in touch with us at info@enfhs.ca. #GivingTuesday #CharitableGiving #Wellbeing #SocialConnections #HealthyCommunities #CombattingSocialIsoloation #MenstrualEquity #GenderEquality #AffordableHousing #HolidaySpirit #JoyLoveLaughter #NeighboursHelpingNeighbours #ConnectedCommunities

Reading through this article was truly harrowing. In times when funding resources are stretched thin, it's crucial for us to collectively prioritise the well-being of every child, especially those who are in the most vulnerable situations and require additional support to flourish. As the CEO of a grassroots charity dedicated to supporting families in our local community, I witness first hand the transformative power of transparency, accountability, and strong governance that align with the charity's mission, vision, and core values. These elements not only bring about incredible social value but also ensure that our efforts are making a tangible difference in the lives of those we aim to support. However, as we delve into the broader context, it becomes evident that somewhere along the line, something is amiss. The current state of care for vulnerable children demands urgent attention and systematic change. We need to come together to advocate for policies and practices that put the needs and well-being of these children at the forefront. What steps can we take as a community, as organisations, and as individuals to address this pressing issue? It's time for collaborative efforts, innovative solutions, and unwavering commitment to ensuring that every child in care receives the stability and support they deserve to thrive. Let's work towards a future where no child is left behind, overlooked, or underserved. #ChildWelfare #community #home #enrichments #extramile #suppprt #VulnerableChildren #FundingStruggles #CommunitySupport #TransparencyMatters #CharityWork #SocialValue #Advocacy #ChildrenInNeed #SystemicChange

#TuesdayTips - Successful major gift officers are known for their decisive nature. However, they do not let their ego come in the way of making and evaluating decisions in the best interest of potential major gift donors and their respective organizations. They are always ready to take corrective action when the current major gift approach is no longer effective, maintain an open mind to change, and continuously review the direction they are taking. #majorgifts #philanthropy #fundraising #healthgiving #healthphilanthropy

📢 Call to action from the community in Asheville! 📢 Hello - I’m Katie Reph. I work in aging services in Asheville, North Carolina, servicing various areas in Western North Carolina, and I am writing this to you as a call to action for the senior citizens and especially solo agers in our area. There has been an incredible response from the community coming together to create a list of resources, places to go, and sharing of information, and I applaud every one of these efforts. What I would like to bring attention to is the large percentage of senior citizens, homebound, individuals, solo agers, and those that may not be able to access these resources independently. Did you know that 45% of people 65+ in Buncombe County live alone? And 32% live with a disability - much higher than the national average. I am writing this as a call to action: Please get out into your communities, walk your neighborhood street, knock on the doors of the elderly around you, and find out what they need so that people can get those resources for them. Do you know or have you found a senior citizen in Buncombe County who is unable to leave their homes to get donations and resources? Please plug their name, address and phone number into this form and they will be assigned to a volunteer. https://lnkd.in/eH27YK4t Are you a willing and able volunteer who can deliver donations to the elderly in need once a day? Sign up here. https://lnkd.in/ex6csnQK Those who attend churches or other various ministries or organized groups: As I’m sure many of you are already doing, please attempt to make contact with your members and understand, if they are over the age of 65, if they need donations delivered or any assistance. If you know of services or resources that will deliver directly to senior homes, please respond to me and I will gather this information so we can leverage those for our seniors in need. There are still many people who do not have any way to call for help, you may be their only potential lifeline. One door knock, one phone call, one gallon of water shared can make a huge difference. If you cannot help on the ground or are not in the area, no problem! Make phone calls, share this with your network, organize documents and information for sharing, anything. We will take every bit of help you can offer. My number is 828-398-8680. If you get my VM it is for Pre-Op Solutions which is my company. Texts seem easiest when able. Thank you all so much, Katie

Sometimes trafficking survivors who call in for help may need help, but the Covered safe house isn’t the right fit for them. For example, they may already have housing established and start struggling. Covered helps by walking alongside them to get them back on their feet. Or, if a survivor does not have housing, Covered can assist by providing hotels for emergency shelter. Then, our team will work with the survivor on the best plan of action for helping them to heal and become self-sufficient. Meanwhile, in cases where it is too dangerous for survivors to live in Colorado, we will move them out of state. Visit coveredcolorado.org to learn more and make a difference for survivors today. #coveredcolorado #givelocal #safehouse #humantraffickingawareness #sextraffickingawareness #denvernonprofit #counseling #traumarecovery #therapy #healing #endhumantrafficking #giving #realestate #corealestate #denverlocal #socialgood #positiveimpact #communityimpact #coloradononprofit #philanthropy #fundraising #helpingothers #empowerment #empowertowardhealing #fightingforfutures #community #localdenver #denverlocal

Successful major gift officers often have a strong sense of gratitude; this positive mindset helps them connect with philanthropists. They can shine in their roles by appreciating the opportunities and relationships that come their way in the major gift fundraising process. It’s all about building rapport and trust with community philanthropists, and when they genuinely express their thanks, it strengthens those connections and leads to even deeper relationships. Gratitude truly goes a long way in creating fundraising success! #gratitude #philanthropy #healthgiving #healthphilanthropy #healthcarephilanthropy #majorgifts #majorgiftofficers

🌐The willingness to share does not make one charitable; it makes one free.🌏 🌐As each of us has spent time on planet Earth chances are that someone has recommended that you "take some time for self-care." Maybe a friend/family has encouraged you to enjoy a "treat yo' self" kind of day. Maybe they’ve told you to make yourself a bubble bath or meditate or do Anulom Vilom. ❣️At the heart of all this advice is the same operational principle: If you want to feel better, you need to do the labor yourself, for yourself. 💫That's why some experts/ community organizers ask that people consider practicing another form of compassion: community care. 👨👨👧👧Community care is a better stepping stone than self-care. It addresses the fact that we're naturally cooperative. We require validation from one another to psychologically persevere and be resilient. That's where community care offers something different. We're doing it together and trying to survive in a system . 💪Together we can achieve more 👩👩👧👨👨👧👧👬 #linkedininsights #linkedinfamily #linkedinlife
