I see lots of people arguing about what is the most important characteristic for leaders to have. Is it authenticity, or empathy, or trustworthiness, or... ? I am sure all of these things are very important. But they're all secondary to the leader's primary role. After all, if you can't persuade people that you know where you're going and how you're going to get there, they're unlikely to want to follow you.
