Catalyzing Student Engagement and Deep Thinking Through Effective Questioning in Active Learning Environments. Torsten Doering, Aaron Lawry, Nabeeha Ahmed Minerva University, San Francisco, USA Abstract The art of posing questions that not only engage but also challenge students is pivotal in fostering an active learning environment. Socratic, convergent/divergent, and questions based on Bloom’s taxonomy are frequently discussed. The approach in this presentation deepens the perspective of the science of teaching and learning as a framework to explore and develop well-crafted questions that can transform classroom dynamics and support effective facilitation and learning in synchronous active learning classes.
