The feedback? Our concept aligns perfectly with the EU’s ambitions for talent development and collaboration across Europe. Much like the iconic “Kroketmuur,” our approach allows learners to pick the learning modules they need, when they need them—tailored to their goals and the ever-changing demands of the global market. 🚀 As we started the new academic year in Portugal, I had the chance to reflect on my Alumni strategy for the new year. Two of our incredible Alumni from Teach For Portugal, Teresa Sopas Soares and Gabriela Silva came together at a retreat focused on reimagining engagement and strengthening our Alumni network. 🌏 🌐 How do we build a community that drives innovation and systemic change from within? 📖 Our discussion focused on the idea of collaborating to amplify each other's strengths and also create a dynamic flow of knowledge and resources, unlocking new opportunities, learning about stories from our network and enabling us to solve complex problems more effectively. 🌿 What did we learn? We learned that empowering the alumni community to self-organize is essential. By creating a dynamic space where collaboration happens naturally, we foster ownership, trust, and the ability to lead new initiatives that align deeply with the needs of our schools and communities. We discussed the importance of creating learning groups, spaces where Alumni can learn together, sharing knowledge and passion. We asked - what helps "lighting our inner fire"—how can we nurture the alumni journey in a way that keeps that spark alive and makes them feel truly connected to the bigger picture? 🤔 We also discussed the challenges of maintaining sustained engagement, balancing personal and professional commitments, and ensuring that innovation remains at the heart of everything we do. The strength of a network lies not just in numbers, but in the quality of engagement. ❓Some important reflection questions- 1. What makes alumni feel connected over the long term? 2. What types of networks or structures allow us to innovate with a focus on the bigger system we want to change? 3. How do we measure the impact of our alumni network, both in the short term and over the course of a lifetime of service? These conversations are just the beginning. We are on the path to encouraging self-organization, and empowering Teach For Portugal Alumni to lead. **Erasmus Students Engage in Governance and Digital Transformation Dialogue at Frumecar** In an enriching cultural and educational exchange today, Frumecar was delighted to host 45 Erasmus students from around the globe, representing countries such as Portugal, Latvia, Poland, Angola, Brazil, India, Cuba, Sri Lanka, and Iran. The visit forms a segment of their involvement in an insightful program on governance and digital transformation in Europe, adeptly coordinated by the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) under Professor Antonio Guerrero's guidance. The insightful program, named "International Forum on Governance, Information Systems Management, and Industry 4.0," is tailored for advanced students eager to delve into the pivotal role of governance and digital innovation in today's world. Adopting the Erasmus Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) model, the curriculum blends in-person and virtual learning with lectures, seminars, and practical workshops based in Cartagena. The objective of the program is to dissect the vital impact that governance has on managing information systems and the evolution towards Industry 4.0, scrutinizing how emerging technologies are transforming businesses globally. The first time I elaborated the Role of Skills Competitions in Enhancing Work-Based Learning, thanks to the International Conference held yesterday in Tirana in the framework of the #VET2VETALBANIA project. Skills competitions are not only an excellent platform for the promotion of excellence in skills but serve as a dynamic tool to connect classroom learning with real-world applications, especially within work-based learning (WBL) frameworks. AlbanianSkills-National Association for Skills Competitions (NASC) exemplifies this by demonstrating how these events have creates an impactful synergy between theory and practice in Albania for almost a decade. 🔑Key aspects include: ✍️Practical Application: Competitions push participants to apply theoretical knowledge to solve industry-relevant challenges, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. ✍️Industry Standards: They align tasks with current market demands, ensuring participants gain experience directly relevant to workplace environments. ✍️Skill Development: By engaging in a competitive yet supportive setting, individuals refine technical, time management, and teamwork skills. ✍️Recognition and Motivation: Participants gain recognition for their skills, boosting confidence and driving further learning and development. ✍️Collaboration with Businesses: Competitions strengthen partnerships between vocational schools and industries, providing opportunities for mentorship and real-world insights.
