Very excited to announce that in the upcoming ECI Single Use Technologies VII: Revolutionizing Manufacturing for Tomorrow’s Medicines conference, I will be chairing a session with Emelia DeForce and Jack Jeffries. We will be chairing a session on Sustainable Solutions in Single-Use Design and Manufacturing. This session signifies and acknowledges the collective efforts for an industry-wide approach to design and use single-use technology in a sustainable manner. The operational and economic benefits of single-use technologies in the manufacture of biopharmaceuticals and advanced therapies are known. However, these need to be balanced with the environmental impact of applying SUT. This session aims to highlight the wider industry efforts on the integration of environmental sustainability and the collective efforts in advancing opportunities for a circular bioeconomy. The focus is on exemplar case studies on sustainable single-use design and manufacture that covers the whole product life cycle involving raw materials and whole-system product outlook from design, manufacture, use and end-of-life of single-use technologies. Some of the questions we aim to tackle include but are not limited to: ● Which products and operations have high environmental impact? ● What does life-cycle-analysis (LCA) say about potential areas for improvement to reduce the environmental impact of SUT application and manufacture? ● What tools, metrics and practices can we use to design and manufacture sustainable SUT? ● What are the current challenges to apply LCA and other tools to gain insights on sustainability metrics? We want to hear about your work on making single use technologies more sustainable! We are inviting abstract submissions for the ECI Single Use Technologies VII: Revolutionizing Manufacturing for Tomorrow’s Medicines. Oral abstracts deadline: September 20th 2024 Poster abstracts deadline: December 17th 2024 Let us hear more about the advances in single-use technology that you are involved in. You can find out more about the conference here: https://lnkd.in/edHswRCU Don’t forget to sign up for the mailing list to receive the most up to date information.

🚀 What’s holding back anaerobic fermentation? The simple answer: no oxygen. This lack has long limited the complexity of products that can be made, especially in biotech and pharma. Izote Biosciences offers a groundbreaking solution. By introducing molecules that act like oxygen substitutes, they’re expanding the range of what can be produced in fermentation processes. This isn’t just a tweak—it’s a game-changer that could revolutionize fermentation tech, opening up new possibilities for efficiency and product diversity across industries. 🔬 #Biotech #Innovation #DeepTech #FutureOfBiotech #BeePartners
