SSAFA the Armed Forces charity and the Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) have common charitable aims and have worked together closely for many years. Even as it draws to a close, 2024 is no exception, and ABF has awarded SSAFA an incredible £245,000, which breaks down as £210,000 towards its casework service for Army beneficiaries and £35,000 towards Stepping Stone Home. SSAFA’s casework, in simple terms, is at the core of the charity’s services, and the support provided is practical, efficient, and timely. Stepping Stone Home provides secure, female-only accommodation and services for women and children of the Armed Forces community who have experienced domestic abuse and violence. A veterans’ self-build project in Plymouth that provides 25 new affordable homes has been completed. The Stirling House Project, which houses six veterans in need of a new home, is a partnership between LiveWest, Plymouth City Council, and veterans’ charity Alabaré. IRS Standard Mileage Rates for 2025 Beginning Jan. 1, 2025, the standard mileage rates for the use of a car, van, pickup or panel truck will be: 70 cents per mile driven for business use, up 3 cents from 2024. 21 cents per mile driven for medical purposes, the same as in 2024. 21 cents per mile driven for moving purposes for qualified active-duty members of the Armed Forces, unchanged from last year. 14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations, equal to the rate in 2024.
