I have a really amazing tip! If you don’t understand why truck drivers aren’t happy at your organization, how about you ASK them directly! Instead of posting to a random group asking for feedback! Also, if you ask them for feedback, don’t fire them if they hurt your feelings by their own feedback. I think if more people 🤐 close their mouths, and open their ears they would learn why we have the problems we do! There’s no need for a convention or trade show to understand how to get more truck drivers. How about KEEP the truck drivers already employed happy instead of constantly looking elsewhere. Again, for the 3,567 time! • Pay • Hometime • Good maintenance ⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️ If you don’t offer good pay, 90% of truck drivers will walk out within 3 months. If you keep messing with a truck drivers home time, they will leave in under 45 days. Got it? Good, I shouldn’t have to read another post wondering why there’s a driver shortage or retention problem! Also, it’s all fine and well about spending time at schools and colleges, but those individuals will also leave once they see how bad the pay and home time is as well. Then in a few years, companies wouldn’t be interested in helping trucking companies because they won’t support the bait & switch tactics that are currently being used. We are in this mess, because too many people have seen the lies and dishonesty and now everyone is scrambling to find talent to fill a freight need. Well, it’s not going to fix the problem in the next year. As a driver myself, my trust is burned! I don’t trust 96% of trucking companies out there. As a carrier business, you get a constant risk of employees switching companies or burning out and leaving for good. But why are truck drivers quitting their jobs more often than other types of specialists? We decided to find out based on firsthand quotes and shared feelings of real drivers.
