🚀 AI-Powered Storybook: A New Chapter in Bedtime Stories As a parent, bedtime stories are a magical part of our nightly routine. While on vacation last month, inspiration struck: what if I could create a never-ending interactive storybook using AI? With that vision, I embarked on developing an interactive, AI-powered storybook with an appealing interface that's easy for children to use. 🔧 The Journey Begins: Linux Beta To kick things off, I spent two weeks building a Linux beta. This phase was all about laying out the architecture and ensuring smooth program flow. Developing under Linux allowed for rapid prototyping and a clear sense of how the storybook would function and feel in practice. Initially, the project was a simple interactive text story. However, it quickly evolved to include image generation, transforming it into a fully illustrated interactive storybook. Prototyping with richConsole on Linux came with its challenges, especially around interactivity and image display. Despite these hurdles, we achieved a functional beta in just under two weeks. 🎥 Check out the Linux beta in action: https://lnkd.in/gtvBKkkR 🖥️ Next Steps: Windows Version with Godot 4 Two weekends ago, I began the transition to a Windows version. After careful consideration of engines like Unreal, Unity, and Godot, I chose Godot 4. Despite some limitations compared to larger engines, Godot 4 made the development process incredibly fast, straightforward, and enjoyable. Now, two weeks into development, I have a working Windows prototype.
