To all of those starting GCSE's and A Levels please remember that your grades don't define you! If you don't do as well as you expected, there are plenty of other alternatives out there! There is life after GCSE's and A Levels :-)

Anniversaries are always a great time for reflection. I recently celebrated my first year at Camberwell Girls and it has been nothing short of a rollercoaster experience. Aside from my personal experience with schools, I had no education experience. And with that, I went onto this steep upskill ride which saw me implement a number of positive changes at a rapid rate, as well as lead and deliver 2 huge submissions to the regulator in record time - over twice the amount of deliverables in a quarter of the time previously allocated, I was told. This was no doubt, the highlight of my year - a true baptism of fire! And through this experience comes, of course, the lessons learnt! - Your skills are totally transferable. You have the knowledge and concepts. Apply them to a new industry. - Your ‘lack’ of knowledge in a new industry is an asset. Because you don’t know, you will find out and dig deeper to get a thorough understanding of the requirements. - Education is a lot more complex than most think and the risk management framework in schools is intricate. Teaching is more than providing an education to kids. Next time you meet a teacher, take your hat off to them! - Education is an ever changing industry. If not a change to standards and ministerial orders, you’re being challenged to think on your feet faced with a curly student situation. - You’re responsible for the lives of our future leaders! - Trust in yourself and your ability to push boundaries and achieve great things, no matter what life throws at you. I’m grateful for the opportunity and look forward to the challenges ahead!

First of all I want to give a resounding round of applause to all the amazing students who are being recognized with academic awards this month! High fives all around, seriously! AND let's not forget to also celebrate those students for whom school has never been an easy ride. Let's cheer for those who bravely tackle each and every word of their spelling homework with determination. Let's honor those who put in hours of effort on assignments that others finish in a fraction of the time. Let's uplift those who strategically "forget" their homework at school to avoid lengthy study sessions. To the students who are wondering what it takes to earn one of those coveted certificates, shiny plaques, or first-place medals, let me share this wisdom earned through the years: hard work is a reward in itself. So, whether you're an award recipient or one who narrowly missed the mark, keep persevering. Seek guidance from the Lord when faced with challenges that seem insurmountable, and use His strength to push through tough times without giving up. There might not be a grand ceremony for simply holding your head high when everything feels overwhelmingly difficult, but if there were, you all would be the recipients. A positive attitude is a treasure in itself. Remember, weary one, the ultimate reward we can all strive for is hearing those words, "Well done, good and faithful servant." Our service to God AND others through our obedience and positive outlook is what truly matters. So, my dear children, you are on the right path. (It has taken me years to be brave enough to express this. So, my heart is begging you to be kind or quiet in your reply.)

As architects of our future, teachers shape the intellectual and moral development of students, influencing their lives in profound ways. By acknowledging their efforts and addressing the challenges they face, we honor their commitment and ensure that the profession continues to thrive. This day of recognition not only celebrates the past and present contributions of teachers but also highlights the ongoing need to support and appreciate those who mold our future.

Teacher Appreciation Day is significant for honoring educators who nurture the minds of future leaders. It's a day to express gratitude towards teachers for their positive impact on students' including future leaders' lives. They are defined by emotional intelligence, adaptability, strategic thinking, and a commitment to continuous learning and growth. These qualities enable them to manage their own emotions, embrace change, see the bigger picture, and lead effectively through transformation.
